Abstract

PURPOSE:To connect a variety of input and output equipments to any of plural connectors optionally by providing a discrimination code memory for discriminating the kinds of the input and output equipments, and by making connections by decoding discrimination codes at a processor side. CONSTITUTION:To an input-output bus 2 connected to a processor 1, input and output equipments 41-43 are connected through dedicated input-output controllers 31-33 by standardized connectors 211-213 and 221-223. A computer system like this is provided with discrimination code memories 311-331 for discrimination codes, with which the kinds of the input and output equipments 41- 43 are discriminated, in correspondence to the input-output controllers 31-33. The contents of the memories 311-331 are decoded at a processor 1 side to make connections with corresponding input-and-output equipment drivers 11-15 in the processor 1.
