Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce damage of an ink ribbon by a method wherein plural kinds of typewriting color parts are repeatedly provided on the ink ribbon toward a longitudinal direction thereof as well as a detector detecting a reflectivity ratio of the ribbon is provided in the vicinity of the typewriting part and a color is decided by a signal therefrom to transfer and drive a desired color part to the typewriting part. CONSTITUTION:Plural kinds (three kinds in a figure) of typewriting color parts 121, 122, 123 are repeatedly provided on an ink ribbon toward a longitudinal direction thereof. On the other hand, in the vicinity of the typewriting part of a printer, a detector 21 detecting a light reflectivity of the ink ribbon and a circuit deciding a color from a reflectivity are provided to transfer and drive a desired color part to the typewriting part.
