Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an FRP product having a very high strength, by incorporating a metallic salt of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid in a specific amount in a sizing agent consisting of a film forming agent, coupling agent, lubricating agent, antistatic agent, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A metallic salt of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid is incorporated in a sizing agent for glass fibers consisting of a film forming agent, coupling agent, lubricating agent, antistatic agent, etc., and usually used as a rein forcing material for an FRP product. A metallic salt of Al, Zn, Sn, Ti, Co or Ni is used as the metallic salt, and the amount thereof is 0.02W1wt% expressed in terms of the solid content.
