Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase thermal efficiency and to simplify processes in brown coal liquefaction, by subjecting raw brown coal to nondistilling dehydration and supplying the resulting brown coal together with a destructive extraction product recycled as a solvent into a wet mill, followed by slurrifying.
CONSTITUTION: Brown coal is sized by screening with screen 1, blending with coal obtd. by crushing coarse coal with crusher 3 and then separating from fine particles with screen 2. The sized brown coal is subjected to primary dehydration and separated from moisture by heating under a high pressure with steam or hot water in nondistilling dehydrator 4, to obtain dehydrated coal. The dehydrated coal and hot solvent 6 are sent to wet mill 5, in which the brown coal is crushed, mixed with the solvent and secondarily dehydrated to form a brown coal-solvent slurry. The slurry is preheated together with H210 in preheater 8 and then subjected to destructive extraction in reaction column 11. The slurry produced is separated from a gas by a gas-liquid separator 12 and introduced into atmospheric distillation column 13, where it is separated from light oil 14. Bottom oil 15 obtd. is seprated into fuel oil 17 and heavy oil 18 by a vacuum distillation column 16. Part or total of the fuel oil 17 is recycled as the solvent 6 to the wet mill 5.
