Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A reactive disazo dye in the free acid form of formulaI(R1 is -SO3H, -SO2CH2CH2OSO3H or H; R2 is H, CH3 Cl or COOH; R3 is SO3H when R1 is H, and H when R1 is other than H).
EXAMPLE: The compound of formula II.
USE: A dye capable of dyeing natural fibers and artificial fibers, particularly cellulosic fibers in navy color, etc. with improved chlorine-, light- and wash-fastness.
PROCESS: A compound of formula III is diazotized, preferably in water solvent, and then coupled with 1-amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid, preferably at 0W10°C and a pH of 1W3, to give a compound of formula IV, which is then coupled with the diazonium salt of a compound of formula V, preferably at 5W15°C and a pH of 6W9, and then condensed with a compound of formula VI preferably at 15W50°C and a pH of 5W8.
