Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A 1:2-type chromium complex salt of formula (X+ is ion of H, sodium, potassium, or ammonium; NH2 is 6- or 7-position of naphthol group).
USE: Black coloring of aluminum metal.
PROCESS: The objective compound of formula is prepared by (1) diazotizing, e.g. 4,6-dinitro-2-aminophenol, (2) coupling the diazo compound with corresponding aminonaphtholsulfonic acid under alkaline conditions, (3) converting the monoazo compound thus obtained to a complex salt with chromium acetate, etc., and (4) salting out the objective compound with an inorganic salt.
