Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the period of time required for cross-linking under heating and shorten a molding cycle by a method wherein a resin material to be fed into a cavity is heated so that the temperature of the resin is raised gradually from the starting period to the finishing period of the feeding. CONSTITUTION:A tubular heater 11 is electrically and automatically controlled to ensure that a cross-linkable high polymeric material to be fed into the cavity 8 is heated so that its temperature is raised gradually from the starting period to the finishing period of the feeding, thereby shortening the period of time required for cross-linking. When the temperature of the resin is raised with a substantially linear gradient from a temperature (e.g., 180 deg.C) at which the resin material can be cross-linked in a short period of time, e.g. 13 seconds, of the start of injection to a temperature (e.g., 200 deg.C or higher) at which the material can be cross-linked in a shorter period of time, e.g. 3 seconds, of the finish of injection, the whole material in the cavity can be simultaneously cross-linked in only 3 seconds after the injection is completed.
