Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform control of brake force without using a proportioning valve by controlling the oil pressure in the leading side cylinder with a limiting valve and thereby suppressing increase of the brake force for the rear wheels.
CONSTITUTION: The rear wheel cylinder 3 of leading, trailing type has its cylinder element divided into the leading side 31 and trailing side 32. To the leading side cylinder 31, a liquid pressure is applied through a control valve 6 such as limiting side cylinder valve. As the brake force of the leading side shoe does not increase in the range over a certain specific liquid pressure value at which the control valve 6 is actuated into operation, the increasing rate of the brake force for rear wheels drops compared with that for front wheeels, and thus a control of brake force can be obtained without resorting to a costly proportioning valve.
