Abstract

PURPOSE: To usefully utilize wave energy, by the method of converting the wave energy into potential energy of seawater, that is, by connecting a buoy and weight to the lever of a reciprocating pump set in the seawater.
CONSTITUTION: A hollowed spherical buoy 1 hangs a weight 3 by a chain 2, simultaneously a lever 4 is swung around the center of a supporting point 5 of a supporting leg 6, here one end of the lever 4 is connected to a reciprocating pump piston 8 and the other end to the buoy through the chain. A cylinder 9 of this reciprocating pump and the supporting leg 6 are fixed to the sea bottom 16 while a delivery port 14 of the pump is connected to a water storage pond 15 above the surface of the seawater. Here the buoy 1 is vertically moved by a wave, then the seawater is pumped up by reciprocating motion of the piston 8 and converted into potential energy. This energy can be applied to the purpose of electric power generation or supply of oxygen by circulation of jet water.
