A cutting tool 18 is rotated by the rotary motion of a face plate 20, and both radial feed and axial feed are actuated to carry out automatic machining through rotation of motors 22 and 23 controlled by the command values stored in a control unit. In addition, a television camera 26 is installed by the pipe 13 to be fabricated so that the machining status may be monitored, and the image is displayed on a monitor television screen installed by the control unit. This constitution enable the workers to carry out works safely without suffering from exposure to the radioactivity in the nuclear furnace and the number of workers can be reduced, by lessening the chance of entry into the work area for those workers.
