Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a voltage controller which has no loss of energy caused by the damping resistance and has a high-speed control response, by adding a circuit that applies the signal proportional to the current of a smoothing capacitor to the control signal and thus eliminating the unstableness of the voltage control. CONSTITUTION:The DC electric power which is supplied to a load 5 is controlled through a smoothing circuit consisting of a smoothing reactor 3 and a smoothing capacitor 4. Such electric power converter includes the 1st detecting circuit 6 which detects the signal corresponding to the output voltage of the said converter plus the 2nd detecting circuit 16 which detects the signal corresponding to the current of the capacitor 4. In addition, a circuit 8 performs the comparison and control between the output of the circuit 6 and the voltage reference value. The output signal of the circuit 16 is added to the comparison/control signal which is obtained from the circuit 8 to control the electric power converter through circuits 18, 9 and 10. In such way, the voltage is controlled.
