Abstract

PURPOSE:An aqueous ink for ball point pens, prepared incorporating a specific alkyl acid amide with an aqueous ink, having improved abrasion preventing effects between metallic balls and tips and lubricity, and capable of giving smooth writing conditions. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous ink prepared incorporating preferably 0.01-3wt% alkyl acid amide of formulas I and/or II (R is 8-16C alkyl; M is H, NH4 or alkali metal), e.g. octylsulfamidoacetic acid (salt) or caprylic acid amidoacetic acid (salt), with an aqueous ink. Preferably, the aqueous ink consists of 0.5- 30wt% water-soluble dye, e.g. an acid dye or direct dye, 10-40wt% water- soluble organic solvent, e.g. ethylene glycol and 28-89.5wt% water. EFFECT:Improved abrasion resistance even with tips made from a synthetic resin, e.g. polycarbonate, other than metal and remarkably extended writing distances.

Or low viscosity water-based inks containing nonionic surfactants, but these water-based inks lack lubricity and cause large friction between the ball and the chip. Abrasion has caused the ball to wobble, resulting in blurred handwriting and an inability to write smoothly.
When writing, abrasion occurs between the ball and the tip.

書味が滑らかでないという問題点があった。There was a problem that the writing quality was not smooth.

Since the alkylamide acetic acid represented by the general formula (1) or (n) has a sulfonyl group and a carbonyl group in its structure, the terminal carboxylic acid group has polarity.
Especially the affinity with metal increases.

Furthermore, alkylamide acetic acid having an alkyl group having 8 to 1 carbon atoms has a particularly remarkable lubricating effect. That is, a material with a small number of carbon atoms lacks hydrophobicity, and a material with a large number of carbon atoms becomes poorly soluble in water.

The amount used is 0.01% by weight based on the total amount of water-based ink.
If the amount is less than 3 weight, the effect will not be significant, and if it is more than 3 weight, insoluble matter may remain in the ink, the viscosity will be high, and ink discharge will be poor, so a range of 0.01 to 3 weight is preferable.

Preferable results can be obtained when these water-soluble dyes are used in an amount of 0.5 to 60% by weight based on the total amount of the ink. This is because if the ink is less than 0.05 weight, the ink density cannot be achieved, and if it is more than 60 weight, the ink viscosity is too high and the ink discharge may be poor when filled into a ballpoint pen.
