In recent years, golf shafts and tennis rackets have been developed using composite materials made of reinforcing fibers and resin. At that time, so-called Gripreg is used, in which a knitted fabric of reinforcing fibers is pre-impregnated with a molding resin that becomes fluid when the molding material is heated before the molding process. Since it is difficult to remove voids by impregnating the resin with a resin, a method has been adopted in which a fluid solution containing the resin is used to impregnate the resin, and then the solvent is removed by heating. In such a case, the solvent in the prepreg is difficult to remove, and if it is attempted to remove the solvent from the prepreg without reducing the moldability of the prepreg, it will take a long time to remove the solvent.

An example of the molding intermediate of the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings. In Fig. 1, (1) is a string-like material made of reinforcing carbon fiber impregnated with molding resin to about 80%, and (2)
This is a molding intermediate in which the reinforcing carbon fibers shown in Figure 1 are braided so that the amount of resin is 40%. Figure 3 also shows a string-like material (5) made of reinforcing fibers impregnated with resin, similar to (1) in Figure 1.
This is a molding intermediate body in which the reinforcing fibers (6) are assembled into a braided intermediate body. These molding intermediates of the present invention can be wrapped on a mandrel, the outer periphery of which is wrapped with an M-shaped tape, and then heated and molded, or a plastic tube-like object such as a pressurizable molding rubber tube is inserted. This product is placed in a mold, and after the mold is closed, pressurized gas is blown into the molding tube to bring the braid-like molding intermediate into close contact with the inner wall of the mold, and the mold is molded. The desired molded product is obtained by impregnating the interior of the reinforcing fibers with the reinforcing resin. The molding intermediate of the present invention is solid at room temperature as a molding resin, and exhibits its effect well when a filament made of a resin that is not highly adhesive is used. When a filament of resin having such characteristics is used as a molding resin, the elasticity of the reinforcing fibers is hardly impaired by the molding resin when the molding intermediate is attached to the mold, so it is A molding intermediate made of reinforcing fibers oriented almost linearly can be attached to a mold.Furthermore, the molding intermediate of the present invention containing reinforcing fibers that are not impregnated with resin can be used. Traditionally, the body was attached to a heated mold,
This method is much easier than the molding method using resin-impregnated prepreg. The filamentous molding resin can be used even if it does not contain other filamentous substances, but in order to improve the handling of the filamentous molding resin, as shown in FIG. 1 or 3,
Preferably, reinforcing fibers or other filaments are added to improve handling properties.

The molding intermediate of the present invention is not limited to a tubular shape as shown in FIG. 1 or 3, but can also be a plain weave molding intermediate as shown in FIG. In the figure, (3) is a reinforcing fiber that is a filamentous molding resin, and (4) is a reinforcing fiber. By appropriately heat-treating a hot-melt resin as a molding resin, a sealing effect can be imparted to the molding intermediate of the present invention (thereby, its handling properties can be further improved).

'% is appropriate. If the amount of molding resin is too small, the resin impregnation into the reinforcing fibers of the resulting molded product will be insufficient, resulting in a composite material with many cavities and weak strength (on the contrary, if there is too much resin) In some cases, unnecessary flow of the reinforcing fibers in the intermediate body in the mold occurs, and as a result, FIGS. 1 and 2 are perspective views of the braid-like molding intermediate body of the present invention; FIG. 3 is a plan view of the plain weave forming intermediate.
