【発明の詳細な説明】
本発明はプラスチ、り基板からなる液晶セルを更Ｋｆラ
スチ、クシート材で被覆してなる液晶表示装置に関する
ものである。

従来液晶表示装置において基板としてプラスチ、り基板
を用いた液晶表示セルは温度、湿度勢の耐久性が弱く、
例えば４！ｓ℃、湿度９０鳴で２０Ｏｈｒ−でセルの表
示劣化が認められ難点となっていた。

本発明は、このようなグラスチック基板を用いた液晶表
示セルの難点を有利に解消したものてあり、即ち、！ラ
スチｔり基板から成る液晶表示セルを、さらに７レキシ
プルなグラスチックシート材′で、少くとも接合部を含
む全周を被覆シールし九ことを特徴とする第６表示装置
である。

これらＯｆシラスチック基板用い九液晶表示セルを少く
とも接合部を含む全周を被覆シールする７レキシデルプ
ラスチツクシート材としては、例えはポリメタクリル酸
メチル、ポリカー−ネート、？リエチレンテレフタレー
トーｆリスチレン、トリアセチルセルロース、工Ｉキシ
樹脂、Ｉリサルホン、−リエーテルサルホン、？リビニ
ルアル；−ル、／ＩＪエチレン、ｆリブチレンテレフタ
レート、Ｉリエーテルスル７オンフイルム等であシ５０
μ〜５００μの厚さのものが好適である。これらのシー
ト材を被接するに当っては通常行われている方法によシ
ランネー、トシて被覆するものであシ、更に溶液化した
プラスチ゛ツクに液晶表示セルを浸漬乾燥する方法等に
よるものである。

次Ｋｌｊ施例について述べる。
図示の如く、ぼりメチルメタクリレートを基板１として
製作した液晶表示セルを、Ｉリエチレンフイルム（厚さ
１００声）２でランネートした。

かくして得られた液晶表示セルは、４！＄Ｃ９０憾湿度

- グラスチック基板から成る液晶表示セルをさらにフレキ
シブルなプラスチックシート材で少くトも接合部を含む
全周を被覆シールし大ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
