Window regulators that convert the rotary and reciprocating operation of a lever or the like into linear movement of raising and lowering a window glass have recently been switched from gear arm type to wire-driven type due to demands for weight reduction. Such a wire-driven window regulator has the advantage that it is relatively easy to separate the driving device from the driven device, so each device can be mounted at a position suitable for its function. An example of such a window regulator is the one disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Laid-Open No. 55-103376. Such a window regulator consists of a drive device and a driven device, and the driven device includes a bracket that fixes the window glass, and a shaft that is provided in the vertical direction and that can slidably guide the bracket.
Two wires are engaged with the bracket and extend in the vertical direction of the guide rail. The driving device is engaged with a pulley formed by winding one end of each of the two wires in opposite directions and engaging the leading end of each wire, a casing that rotatably supports the pulley, and the pulley. It consists of a lever. A driven device and a driving device having such a basic configuration are installed at an appropriate location such as a car door, and the wire is routed between them in a loop to transmit power from the driving device to the driven device. are doing. That is, by rotating the lever, one end of the wire is wound around the pulley and the other end is unwound from the bobber, the loop of wire is slid in one direction, and the bracket engaged with part of the wire is moved onto the guide rail. The window glass is raised and lowered by sliding along the window. Such a window regulator has the advantage that the driven device and the drive device can be easily installed at appropriate positions relative to the door, etc., but the disadvantage is that the window regulator cannot be handled as a single unit. be. In other words, workers must accurately install multiple devices, and after installing each device, they must route the wires and adjust the length of the wires to give the appropriate tension to the wires. Therefore, a great deal of effort is required for installation. In addition, regular window regulators come with a balance spring mechanism that balances the weight of the glass and makes operation easier, and a wire stretch absorption mechanism (described later), but the installation of these mechanisms and the wiring for them are difficult. If this is also included, the installation work will require even more labor.

Further, in these window regulators, the wires stretched between each device need to be routed in a straight line in order to transmit power. In other words, unlike cable wires that are guided through conduits, etc.
If the wire is not stretched in a straight line, it cannot transmit power. Therefore, there is a restriction that each device must be arranged two-dimensionally, so to speak, and there is also a drawback that the installation space must be extremely large.

On the other hand, wires made of stranded metal wires have the characteristic that they elongate when tension is applied, especially at the beginning of the wire's use.

Therefore, devices that employ wires as power transmission means require a mechanism to absorb such elongation and restore appropriate tension to the wires.

Wire-type window regulators are also equipped with a tension boob or bolt-on donut type wire elongation absorption mechanism, but the operator must always check the extent of the elongation or wire slack in these wire elongation absorption mechanisms. However, the elongation absorption mechanism has to be operated as necessary, which is extremely troublesome for the operator.

Furthermore, in the window regulator disclosed in the above-mentioned Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 55-105376, the main part of the driving device or the driven device is arranged below the door, etc., and the wire is routed below the door. . However, these devices have drawbacks such as rainwater adhering to the wires and devices for a long time, which can cause the wires and devices to rust, or freeze in winter or in cold regions, making the device inoperable.

Therefore, the inventors of the present invention have eliminated the above-mentioned drawbacks, and are able to handle the driving device and the driven device as one compact unit although they are substantially separate, which requires less space for installation, and furthermore, The present invention was completed as a result of extensive research in order to provide a window regulator that automatically absorbs the elongation of windshield by operating a drive device, is less susceptible to creeping and rusting, and is easy to operate.

A window regulator with such a spiral spring 08) operates in the same way as the aforementioned window regulator without the spiral spring, but the spiral spring (E) causes the second pulley (1→ to move in the direction (A)).
