It has been known in the past for automobiles to form an opening in the roof portion of a vehicle body and to attach a retractable or removable roof to the opening, and to attach the retractable or removable roof to a translucent material such as glass. It has already been proposed and put into practical use. For example, Mikiakiaki! 5
Japanese Patent Publication '2-1' 7813 discloses a structure in which an opening is formed in the front part of the roof of a vehicle body, and a transparent plate is attached to the opening.

In addition, Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 56-69515 discloses a structure in which rectangular notches are formed on both sides of the front of the vehicle roof (-1) and a glass panel is removably attached to each of the notches. These are considered to represent two typical types of conventionally known removable glass roof structures.

However, in the above-mentioned conventionally known removable glass roof structure, in the former case, the opening formed in the roof part must be supported on the inside of the roof sight rail on the side of the roof part. There was a problem in that the opening could not be expanded to a large enough extent, and the light-transmitting plate attached to the opening did not contribute at all to improving the appearance of the automobile. In the latter case, the glass panel attached to the notch is formed to reach from the side of the roof part to the top of the door glass, giving a distinctive appearance where the glass panel and the door glass are continuous. There was a problem in that a metal panel portion extending back and forth remained in the center of the roof portion, and the openings formed by each notch could not be made sufficiently wide.

The present invention has been made in view of the above points. By covering the roof site rail with the roof site rail, there is no need for a structure to support the roof inside the roof site rail, and it is possible to extend the roof site rail to the position of the roof site rail. At the same time, the objective is to improve the appearance by forming a capsule-like appearance with a continuous band-like light-transmitting part from the door glass on both sides to the entire roof.

As explained above, according to the present invention, both left and right ends of the removable roof made of a translucent material, which is removably attached to the opening of the vehicle roof, extend to near the upper end of the door glass, and extend on both sides of the roof. The weather strip covers the roof sight rail, and a weather strip is interposed between the side edge of the roof and the upper edge of the door glass, and both are in seal contact with the IJ knob, and the The weather strip has a rain rail with a generally concave cross section formed at the location where the side edge of the roof is located, so while ensuring sufficient sealing performance on the side of the roof, it can be easily removed from the side of the vehicle to the entire center of the roof. It is possible to obtain a capsule-like appearance with a translucent part across the roof, improving the appearance, and the roof opening can be expanded to the position of the roof sight rail, ensuring a sufficiently large opening. It is something.
