本発明はシリンダブロックに取付けられて内燃機関を形

いないために十分な耐熱性が発揮されないという欠点を

に臨む表面の亀裂を効果的に防止し、さらに耐熱板によ
る耐熱効果を高めるようにしたシリンダヘッドを提供す

を示しており、このシリンダヘッド1は鋳鉄によって&
ff!されている。そしてシリンダヘッド1には、各シ
リンダに対応してそれぞれ空洞から成る吸気ボート2お
よび排気ポート3が形成されている。そして吸気ポー1
−2および排気ポート3にはそれぞれ、吸気弁および排
気弁を支持する案内孔4.5が形成されている。またこ
れらの吸気ボート2および排気ポート3の、燃焼室に臨
む下面側の開口縁部には、バルブシート6.7がそれぞ
れ装着されている。これらのバルブシー[・6.7が上
述の吸気弁および排気弁の弁座を構成している。さらに
上記吸気ボート2および排気ポート3の開口縁部の間に
は、特に第3図に示づように耐熱板8が組込まれている
。この耐熱板8は、通常の圧m鋼板、あるいは耐熱鋼板
等の耐熱性に優れた材料から構成されCいてよい。そし
てこの耐熱板8の両側面には、上記バルブシー1〜6.
7とそれぞれ係合づる段部9が形成され、また燃料噴射
ノズルの先端部が挿入される小孔10が形成されている
。なお第1図において鎖線11で示す円は、シリンダの

いてこのシリンダヘッド1の下面を機械加工することに
より耐熱板8の下面も一緒に機械加工されるようになっ
ている。従ってこの場合には耐熱板8の下面が一対の吸
気ボート2と排気ポート3との弁間において燃焼室に臨
む表面に直接露出することになり、特にこの部分にお1
プるシリンダヘッド1の熱亀裂に対する対策が確実に行

出されている。従ってこの変形例においても、シリンダ
ヘッド1の燃焼室に臨む表面の耐熱亀裂を耐熱板8によ
