Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable uniform carburization, by disposing an annular tubular nozzle in the recessed part 1 formed at the top end on the inside peripheral side of a furnace body. CONSTITUTION:A fluidized bed carburization furnace has a fluidizing device which supplies a gaseous atmosphere consisting of non-stoichiometric mixture of gaseous hydrocarbon and air through a pipe 1 into a hearth packed therein with refractory powder and granules and forms a fluidized bed 4 and an annular pipelike nozzle 6 which ejects the air necessary for burning the gaseous atmosphere passed through the layer 4 in the internal space formed above the bed 4. The nozzle 6 is disposed in the recessed part formed at the top end on the inside peripheral side of the furnace body. Roughly the entire volume of the ejected air is used for the combustion of the gas and the inflow of the air into the bed 4 is virtually thoroughly prevented.
