エンジンにおいて、エンジンの排気］程時にのみ排気弁
を開くための第１のカムと、エンジンの膨張工程時にの
み排気弁を開くための穿、２のカムと、これらのカムに
選択的に係合してＪ記排気弁を開閉する弁開閉部材と、
この弁開閉部材と上記第１、第２のカムとを相対的に移
動させて弁開閉部材と第１、第２のカムとを選択的に係
合させるための駆動手段とからなっていて、膨張工程時
に排気弁を開き、排気工程時に排気弁を閉じることによ
りエンジンの一サイクル動作中に２回の圧縮工程を生せ
しめて、エンジンブレーキ効果を得ることを特徴とする
