Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable continuous observation of cracking due to aging with the same heating test piece by applying a heating or cooling to a test piece comprising a hetero weld joint with a section containing two matrixes and a weld part exposed. CONSTITUTION:A cracking is generated in the weld part of a hetero joint due to difference in thermal expansion of material of different kinds to observe. For example, a metal 1 of austenite system is welded with a plate-shaped material made of a metal 2 of carbon steel or a metal 1' of austenite system to form a test piece horizontally symmetrical with sections 5 and 5' of the joint made of a welding metal 3 exposed and this is used to generate a cracking in a weld part depending on difference of thermal expansion of the hetero material by heating or cooling it. The horizontally symmetrical form of the test piece enables the modeling of the stress condition of a pipe material and when the thermal stress of the weld metal 3 section is large, cracking is generated in the surface of a high carbon steel side material 2 made of two kinds of metals 1 and 2 as shown by the dotted line. This facilitates the follow-up observation of crackings 8 and 8' at the sample point with one test piece.

Up until now, when observing cracks (4) that occur in metal (2) over time, it is necessary to repeat heating and cooling, cut the section ■-■ in Figure 1, and then polish the cross section as shown in Figure 2. The size of defects inside the weld was observed using methods such as these.

For this reason, as the number of observation points due to changes over time increases, it is necessary to produce a correspondingly large number of welding test pieces, which poses a problem in that the time and man-hours required for the test, as well as the cost, increase.

The present invention was made in view of the above-mentioned disadvantages of the conventional method, and an object of the present invention is to provide a heating test method that allows continuous observation of cracks due to changes over time using the same heated test piece.

Therefore, the present invention consists of a dissimilar metal welded joint in which a cross section including the two base materials and the welded part is exposed in a heating test method in which cracks are generated in the welded part of the dissimilar metal joint and observed due to the difference in thermal expansion between the dissimilar materials. The gist is a heating test method characterized by heating and cooling the test piece. The weld zone or weld heat-affected zone, where defects are expected to occur due to the thermal stress of the heating test, is exposed, so this is heated and cooled. This allows continuous observation of various thermal stress defects from generation to growth using a single test piece.

Since the present invention has the above-mentioned configuration, the number of test pieces required for the observation of thermal stress defects over time is extremely minimized, and efficient testing is possible. That is, in tests for the same material, one test condition is sufficient for each test condition.

By making the tube symmetrical in this way, it is possible to model the stress situation in the pipe material, but with this thin plate-shaped heated test piece,
It was found that thermal stress in the direction of arrow (6) was the main component, while stress in the direction of plate thickness (7) had almost no effect on the occurrence of cracks (8). Therefore, if the thermal stress in the weld metal (3) is large, the crack (4) will form as shown by the dotted line in Figure 8.4.
It occurs on the surface of the high carbon steel side material of metal (1) and (2) with a length of 2m.
