  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 用紙支持装置上に支持された記録用紙を正逆両方向へ送
    る用紙送り装置と、 筆記具を支持するとともに前記記録用紙の送り方向と直
    交する方向に移動可能なキャリッジと、そのキャリッジ
    を駆動するキャリッジ駆動装置と、 前記筆記具を前記記録用紙に接触する位置と該記録用紙
    から離隔する位置とに位置させる筆記具−駆動装置と、 前記用紙送り装置、キャリッジ駆動装置および筆記具駆
    動装置を制御し、前記筆記具を記録用紙に接触させなが
    ら前記キャリッジと記録用紙とを相対移動させて作画さ
    せる作画制御手段と−を有する記録装置において、 前記筆記具駆動装置に前記筆記具を前記記録用紙から離
    隔させた状態のまま、前記用紙送り装置およびキャリッ
    ジ駆動装置に、作画するために入力された作画データに
    基づいて、作画面を囲む矩形または円の実際の大きさを
    示す空送り動作をさせる空送り制御手段と、 −その空送り制御手段による空送り動作時には、前記キ
    ャリッジおよび記録用紙を通常の作画動作時よりも低速
    で移動させるように前記キャリッジ駆動装置および用紙
    送り装置を制御する速度制御手段と を設けたことを特徴とする記録装置。
