ので、種々の熱可塑性樹脂部材の溶接に用いて有効であ
る。
従来、熱可塑性樹脂部材の溶接を行なう場合、熱風溶接
法あるいは熱板溶接法を用いるのが一般的である。熱風
溶接法はノズルより熱風を溶接箇所に吹きつけて溶接を
行なう方法であるが、この方法だとノズルより吹き出さ
れる熱風の風圧により溶接部表面に波状の凹凸ができた
り、熱風の対流により溶接部以外の箇所に熱影響が及び
、被溶接部材が変形、変質したりするという問題がある
。

一方、熱板溶接法は、溶接箇所に熱板を溶接させて被溶
接部材を溶接させ結合させる方法であるが熱板を溶融箇
所から引き離す際、溶融樹脂が熱板から完全に離れず糸
を引くという現象が生じる。

つまり繊維状のハリが生じるという問題がある。
本発明は上記問題点に鑑みて案出されたもので、溶接層
の厚さを均一にし、溶接部以外の箇所への熱影響を防ぎ
、パリの発生を防止することを目的とする。

次に本発明の実施例を図に基づいて説明する。
第1図は本発明を実施する装置の一実施例である。
l及び2は熱可塑性樹脂よりなる第1溶接部材1、第2
溶接部材2で、その第1溶接面1aと第2溶接面2aと
を対向させながらベース20に加圧保持具3,4によっ
て固定されている。第1溶接面1aと第2溶接面2aと
の間には所定間隔が形成されており、この所定間隔に熱
輻射ヒータ5が配置される。このヒータ5の位置は前記
所定間隙のちょうど中央の位置に配されている。尚、第
1溶接部材1と第2溶接部材2は溶接されることによっ
てタンクを形成する。
溶接部材2で、その第1溶接面1aと第2溶接面2aと
を対向させながらベース20に加圧保持具3,4によっ
て固定されている。第1溶接面1aと第2溶接面2aと
の間には所定間隔が形成されており、この所定間隔に熱
輻射ヒータ5が配置される。このヒータ5の位置は前記
所定間隙のちょうど中央の位置に配されている。尚、第
1溶接部材1と第2溶接部材2は溶接されることによっ
てタンクを形成する。
次に第2図〜第4図に基づいて溶接の手順を説明する。
第2図は溶接前の第1溶接部材1および第2溶接部材2
を加圧保持治具3および4に取付けた状態と、熱輻射ヒ
ータ5を制御電源6にて昇温し、加熱待期している状態
を示す。このときヒータ5の表面温度は赤外線放射温度
計7で測定し、制御電源6によってフィードバンクされ
て常に目標値に制御されている。

第3図は昇温した熱輻射ヒータ5を、第1溶接面1aと
第2溶接面2aとの間に形成された所定間隔H内に移動
させ、第1溶接面1aおよび第2溶接面2aを同時に加
熱し溶融させる工程を示す。

このときのヒータ5の表面温度は500℃〜1200℃
程度、加熱時間は5秒〜30秒が良い。また、第1,2
溶接面1a、2aを同時に同程度溶融させるため、ヒー
タ5は所定間隔11のほぼ中央に位置させている。次に
第4図に示す様にヒータ5を取り去って、加圧保持治具
3および4にて速やかに押圧、保持して接合する。この
ときの押圧力Fは溶接部材の材質および形状により異な
るが、部材の接合面積1d当り0.5 kg f〜5
kg fが良く、保持時間は8秒〜40秒が良い。また
、一定寸法まで押しつぶす方法であっても良い。そして
、その後、押圧、保持を開放して接合を完了する。

第5図は他の変形例を示すもので、隔壁部を有したマル
チタンクの溶接も可能である。この溶接は、第1溶接部
材1と第2溶接部材2の外周溶接部1bと2b、および
隔壁部1cと20を同時に溶接するものである。この場
合の熱輻射ヒータ5の平面形状は、第6図に示すように
第1ヒータ5aと第2ヒータ5bに分割したものが良い
が、溶接部形状に沿った形状であればこれに制約される
ものではない。
チタンクの溶接も可能である。この溶接は、第1溶接部
材1と第2溶接部材2の外周溶接部1bと2b、および
隔壁部1cと20を同時に溶接するものである。この場
合の熱輻射ヒータ5の平面形状は、第6図に示すように
第1ヒータ5aと第2ヒータ5bに分割したものが良い
が、溶接部形状に沿った形状であればこれに制約される
ものではない。
また、その他の変形例として、外周部以外に部分的な接
合部を有する溶接部材の溶接も可能である。例えば、第
7図に示すような、第1溶接部材1及び第2溶接部材2
の内側に支柱1d、および2dを有する部材の溶接であ
る。この場合の熱輻射し−タ5の平面形状は、第8図ち
示す形状で良く、同様に溶接が可能である。

尚、本発明者等の検討によれば、溶接部材の外形がおよ
そ50cn程度まで、溶接部長さの合計が約30cm程
度まで、溶接面積の合計が200cta程度までのもの
であれば溶接可能であることがわかっているが、さらに
研究開発を進めればより大きな溶接部材の溶接も可能で
ある。

以上説明した様に、本発明の溶接方法を用いれば溶接層
の厚さを均一にすることができ、糸引き現象などのパリ
発生がなく、溶接部以外の箇所への熱影響を防ぐことが
でき、熱可塑性樹脂部材の安定した溶接を行なうことが
できる。

Claims (1)
- 複数の被溶接部材をその溶接部を互いに対向させながら
所定間隔を介して配置させる第1工程と、前記溶接部と
略同−形状を有するヒータを前記所定間隔の中位型に配
置させる第2工程と、前記ヒータを発熱させその輻射熱
によって前記被溶接部材の溶接部を溶接させる第3工程
と、前記ヒータを前記所定間隔から取り去る第4工程と
、前記被溶接部材の溶接部を互いに当接させ押圧する第
5工程と、前記溶接部を冷却し前記複数の溶接部材を結
合させる第6エ程とを経時順に行なう熱可塑性樹脂部材
の熱輻射溶接方法。
