In other words, in the past, the workpiece was firmly fixed at the desired position in the barrel tank, which required a large and expensive holding device to restrain the workpiece, and it was also necessary to polish the entire surface of the workpiece. In some cases, the tip of the holding device, that is, the holding part, must also be inserted into the media together with the workpiece, so media debris and coolant may enter the dirty parts of the holding part, reducing the durability of the holding part. Not only is the workpiece deteriorated extremely, but the workpiece may also be gripped with media or its fragments caught between the gripping claws, etc. that make up the holding part, and the workpiece, resulting in the workpiece being held during machining. There was a risk that it would come off from the holding part.

Furthermore, in the past, the workpiece was firmly fixed from the outside surface, so if the workpiece has a spherical outside surface, the gripping claws of the holding device should also have a spherical shape that corresponds to the shape of the workpiece. Therefore, there is a problem that the holding device becomes expensive.Furthermore, if the workpiece is firmly fixed and restrained as in the conventional method, the workpiece is easily subjected to uneven machining. In order to prevent this, complicated and expensive equipment such as a workpiece rotation mechanism is required. This invention was made in view of the above circumstances, and in addition to being able to simplify the structure of the workpiece holding device, there is no fear that the workpiece will separate from the holding device, and furthermore, the workpiece can be easily attached and detached, and it is possible to The object of the present invention is to provide a barrel polishing method that does not damage a workpiece.

That is, in this invention, an annular workpiece is attached to a workpiece holding device, and the workpiece holding device is lowered relative to a barrel tank, so that the annular workpiece is inserted into the rotating and flowing media together with the barrel tank. When barrel polishing the workpiece, the workpiece holder for holding the workpiece in the workpiece holding device is formed into an anchor shape such as an L shape or a fishhook shape, and at the same time, the annular workpiece is drilled from the tip of the workpiece holder to hold the workpiece. By causing the workpiece holding odor to descend and rise relative to the barrel tank, the tip of the workpiece holder will not touch the rotating and flowing media when the workpiece is inserted into or pulled up from the media. This is characterized by positioning the workpiece holder so as to face the upstream side thereof.

In this way, at the start of machining and at the completion of machining, the workpiece is pushed deep inside the workpiece holding odor by the media, so there is no risk of detachment from the workpiece holding odor, and furthermore, even during machining, the workpiece is not affected by the workpiece holding odor. Since it is held deep inside, there is no risk of it coming off, and since the workpiece holding odor only needs to be in a simple brocade shape, its structure is extremely simple, and it is extremely easy to attach and detach the workpiece. Since the workpiece is simply floating in relation to the workpiece holder, there is no active force acting between the workpiece and the workpiece holder, and therefore the workpiece will not be damaged during machining. It is. Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

A work holding device 16 is provided on the cross beam 13. This work holding device 16 mainly includes a rotating main shaft 17 having a chuck mechanism, a work holder 18 for holding an annular workpiece W, and a motor 9 for rotating the rotating main shaft 17. 17 is attached to the tip of the cross beam 13 so as to be able to rotate vertically, and the motor 19 is attached to the base end of the cross beam 13 via a placket 20. and a motor 19 are connected via pulleys 21, 22 and a belt 23, and the motor 19 rotates the rotating main shaft 17. A switch 24 for determining the stop position of the rotating main shaft 17 is provided near the rotating main shaft 17, and the switch 24 can be turned off by a dog or a magnet (not shown) attached to the rotating main shaft 17. By stopping the motor 19, the rotating main shaft 17 is indexed and positioned in the stereotactic layer. Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 2, the workpiece holder 18 has a fishing shape (more specifically, an L-shape), and is attached at a predetermined location of the base part 18a from the inner diameter of the annular workpiece W to be held. A long stopper piece 18b is provided to protrude in the horizontal direction, and the two workpiece holders 18 configured in this way are attached to the peripheral part of the disk 25 at each base part 18a so that they are parallel to each other. First, the workpiece holding device i6 is sufficiently raised together with the cross beam 13 by the vertical actuator 15, and the mounting rod 26 is inserted and fixed into the rotational main shaft 17, thereby attaching the workpiece holding device 18 to the rotational main shaft 17. I'll keep it. In this case, the switch 24 is operated to index and position the rotating main shaft 17 at a desired position, and the work holding odor 18 is attached to the rotating main shaft 17.
, so that its tip 18c faces the upstream side of the media rotating and flowing together with the barrel tank 2 (the state shown in Fig. 2).
Set it. Work holder 18 set as above
At the same time, the annular work W is loosened and played, and the barrel tank 2 is rotated in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 2 by the motor 8.
Thereafter, the work holding device 16 is lowered together with the machine beam 13, and the annular work W is inserted into the medium 1 together with the work holding smell 18. When the annular workpiece W descends and comes into contact with the media, the media 1 moves the annular workpiece W from the tip 18c of the workpiece holder 18 to the base part 18a.
Since the annular workpiece W is flowing as if being pushed toward, the annular workpiece W moves to the innermost part of the workpiece holding smell 18, that is, to the base part 18a side, and reaches the base part 18a with the stopper 18b as the upper limit.
It rises along the FIG. 1 shows a state in which the annular workpiece W has risen up to the stopper 18b. After the annular workpiece W is inserted and held in the medium as described above, the motor 19 provided on the cross beam 13 is started, and the workpiece holder 18 is rotated together with the rotation main shaft 17. In this way, the relative flow direction of the medium 1 with respect to the annular workpiece W changes sequentially, so that the annular workpiece W
can be polished uniformly throughout. Note that if the rotational speed of the workpiece holder 18 is too fast, excessive frictional force or impact force will be generated between the annular workpiece W and the workpiece holding odor 18.
Since this may cause damage to the inner circumferential surface of the annular work W, the rotation speed of the work holding odor 18 is set at 15 rpm.
Approximately pm is appropriate. Even at such low speed rotation, the annular workpiece W is held by the workpiece holder 18 by the fluid force of the media 1.
It is held in a raised state on the base camphor part 18a. After polishing the annular workpiece W for a predetermined period of time as described above, the motor 19 is stopped and the rotation of the workpiece holding smell 18 is stopped.

In this case, by operating the switch 24 and indexing the rotary main shaft 17 to a desired position, the workpiece holder 18 is stopped in its original state with its tip 18c facing upstream of the media 1. Thereafter, when the work holding device 16 is raised together with the cross beam 13 by the vertical actuator 15, the annular work W is oriented in the direction in which the work holding odor 18 is oriented as described above. It is pulled up from the media 1 while being pushed by the media 1 toward the portion 18a side. According to the above-described method, the annular workpiece W is maintained in a raised state on the base part 18a of the workpiece holder 18 during processing, so that it does not come off from the workpiece holder 18, and the annular When inserting the workpiece W into the media 1 or pulling it up from the media 1, the workpiece holding odor 18 is removed from the tip 18c of the workpiece W.
Since the annular workpiece W is set to face upstream of the media 1, the annular workpiece W is pushed deep inside the workpiece holder 18 and does not come off from the workpiece holder 18.

FIG. 3 shows an example in which a pair of workpiece holders 18, 18' are arranged symmetrically with respect to the center of the barrel tank 1. Generally, it is preferable that the workpiece be attached and detached from one place without the operator having to move, so in the case of two axes as shown in FIG. 3, each pair of workpiece holders 18, 18'
Both are directed toward the work station, and in this state, the annular workpiece W is attached and detached. In this way, the tip end 18'c of the workpiece holder 18' of one pair (the right side in FIG. 3) faces the downstream side of the media 1, so that the workpiece holding odor 18 and When 18' is lowered and the annular workpiece W is inserted into the media,
The annular workpiece W attached to one of the pair of workpiece holders 18' is pushed by the media 1 and detached from the workpiece holder 18'. Therefore, in the case of the two axes mentioned above,
Prior to lowering each work holding shell 18, 18',
As shown in FIG.
Index to the position rotated 80 degrees, then close Dia 1
and insert the annular work W into the media 1. In addition, after the polishing process is completed, the workpiece retention odor18,18
', and the annular workpiece W is held up by the workpiece holder 18,
18', each pair of work holders 18,
18' are indexed and positioned so that their tips 18c, 18'c face the upstream side of the media 1, and then each workpiece holding smell 18, 18' is pulled up and then turned to face the opposite side to the work station. Work holding odor 18'
Index to the position rotated 800 times. If you do this,
Even in the case of two axes, the workability of attaching and detaching the annular workpiece W does not deteriorate, and the annular workpiece W can be easily held by the workpiece holding mechanism 8, 18'.
Polishing can be performed without separating from the surface.
In addition, in each of the above-mentioned embodiments, the work holding odor 18, 18
' is L-shaped, but the workpiece holder that can be used in carrying out the method of the present invention is not limited to those shown in each of the above embodiments, and may have a fishhook shape or a tip bent upward at an acute angle. It may be a so-called fishing shape in which the tip end is a free end. Further, the workpiece that can be polished by the method of the present invention does not have to be annular as shown in the above embodiments, but rather has a shape that has a hole that can come into contact with the plow-shaped workpiece holding odor described above. Therefore, the annular workpiece in the present invention includes a workpiece having such a hole. As is clear from the above description, according to the barrel polishing method of the present invention, the annular workpiece is attached to a workpiece holding device, and the workpiece holding device is lowered relative to the barrel bath, thereby rotating the annular workpiece together with the barrel bath. Insert and hold in flowing media,
When barrel polishing an annular workpiece, a workpiece holder for attaching the workpiece is formed into a pot shape, and the annular workpiece is inserted into the workpiece holder from its tip so that it floats around, and the workpiece holding odor is removed. When inserting or pulling up the workpiece into the media by lowering and raising the workpiece relative to the barrel tank, the workpiece holding odor is removed so that the tip of the workpiece holding odor faces upstream of the rotating and flowing media. Since the workpiece is positioned deep within the workpiece holder by the media, the workpiece is pushed deep inside the workpiece holder by the media, not only during the polishing process, but also at the start and completion of the process.
Therefore, the workpiece can be held securely without being separated from the workpiece holding odor, and since the workpiece holding odor may be a simple brocade shape, its structure is extremely simple, and the workpiece can be attached and removed extremely easily. Furthermore, since the workpiece is only playing against the workpiece holder, no force is actively exerted between the workpiece and the workpiece holder, which prevents damage to the workpiece during machining. There are effects such as being able to prevent
