Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a laminar character or pattern part having three-dimensional feeling, by applying ink based on a vinyl chloride resin paste to the surface of a molding substrate in a character or pattern form before gelling and solidifying the ink under heating. CONSTITUTION:Ink based on a vinyl chloride resin paste having a thixotropicity imparting agent, for example, extremely fine calcium carbonate mixed therein is applied to the surface of a molding substrate 11 in a character or pattern form, for example, a character shape 12. Next, the ink is heated at relatively low temp. of about 150 deg.C and gelled and solidified to form a laminar character part having three-dimensional effect.

A simple and inexpensive method for attaching letters or the like to an automobile molding made of vinyl chloride resin or the like is to apply ink by screen printing or the like. however,
The ink used in conventional screen printing has a problem in that characters formed with this ink lack three-dimensionality.

On the other hand, from the viewpoint of improving the design, there is a strong demand for giving the letters attached to the molding a three-dimensional effect, and for this purpose, currently, the method of injection molding the three-dimensional letters on the molding board or the method of pasting the character sheet μ is used. However, these methods are considerably more expensive than the above-mentioned screen printing, and require more time and effort.

The method for manufacturing a molding for an automobile according to the present invention involves applying an ink mainly composed of a vinyl chloride resin paste mixed with a thixotropic property imparting agent to the surface of a molding substrate in the shape of letters or patterns, and heating the ink after application. By gelling and solidifying the substrate, letters or patterns are formed in a layered manner on the surface of the substrate.

The emulsion polymerization paste resin in the table (lλ is the part name "Zeon 25C" made by Nippon Zeon Co., Ltd., and (2) in the table is the part name "Zeon 135J" made by Nippon Zeon Co., Ltd.). The degree of polymerization of 25CJ is approximately 850.Paste resin "Zeon 135JJ is a copolymer of PVC and vinyl acetate/l/(VA).
C) is melt-cured and its degree of polymerization is about 1200. In order to cure the paste sol, it is necessary to raise the temperature to a high temperature, but in order to keep the deformation of the substrate to a minimum, it is better to perform the process at a low temperature as much as possible. Therefore, as mentioned above, the above-mentioned "Zeon 135J" which melts at a relatively low temperature is used. However, since Zeon 135JJ has a high affinity with plasticizers, its viscosity increases significantly. To prevent this, Zeon 25C, a regular paste resin, is added. These blending ratios are not limited to those in the table above, and can be set arbitrarily depending on the purpose.
It is also possible to use 100 copies of only one of them.

Ink 12', which is made by adding colored pigments to PVC resin beinet, which is made into plastisol or organosop by adding a solvent, in the proportions shown in the above table, is brought into contact with the substrate 11 as shown in FIG. The ink is applied onto the substrate 11 through a nylon screen plate 2 of a predetermined thickness that allows the ink to pass through the character portion. After removing the screen plate 2, the substrate unit 1 is placed in the open and heated at about 150°C for about 5 minutes. As a result, the ink is gelled and solidified to form a layered three-dimensional character portion 12. It should be noted that, after forming the character portion, if conventional printing ink is further applied to the parting portion, a clearer character shape can be obtained.

As described above, the present invention applies ink mainly composed of vinyl chloride resin paste to the surface of a molding substrate in the shape of letters or patterns, and then heats the ink to gel and solidify it, thereby creating layered letters with a three-dimensional effect. This makes it possible to manufacture automotive moldings with three-dimensional characters at a much lower cost and more easily than the conventional injection molding method or single-stick pasting method.
