Abstract

PURPOSE:To clean the optical connector end surface of a box-shaped unit from the front surface easily and securely by providing a pipe which can be rotated at the front side where it faces the optical connector on a guide plate in the same shape with a printed circuit board. CONSTITUTION:The pipe 15 is supported rotatably on the bearing frame 16 of the guide plate 10 in the same shape with the printed circuit board; one end surface of the pipe 15 faces the optical connector 14 and the other end is rotated from the front side. When the optical connector is cleaned, a cotton swab 17 is fitted atop of the pipe 15 and the guide plate 10 is inserted, and the pipe 15 is rotated with a handle 19 to clean ferrule end surfaces. Further, a gas spray 20 or suction pump 21 is fitted to a pipe 18 and foreign matter on the ferrule end surface is blown away or sucked to clean the end surface. Consequently, a box- shaped optical connector installed far inside is cleaned up from the front surface easily and securely.

ない欠陥を与えることになる。従って光ファイバの端部
は着脱する毎に清掃する必弦がある。このため通常の手
で着脱できる光コネクタは綿棒などで簡単に清掃してい
た。ところが第1図に示すような多数のプリント回路基
板Iを!ラグインタイブで搭載したユニ、ト2の如き装
置においては光コネクタ3が奥まったところにあるため
、パックパネル4に固定された方の光コネクタの清掃は
非常に困難であり十分な清:Φは不可能であった。また
清掃のだめのス4−スを確保するためには他のプリント
回路基板をも取り外す(場合によっては構造上不可能な
事もある)必要がある等の問題があった。

とする光コネクタ清掃治具を提供することによって達成

ができる。またパイプ15の光コネクタ14に対向する
方の端部に軟質のバイア018を、他端にガススプレー
20をそれぞれ取り付け、・々イノ18の先端を光コネ
クタ14のフェルール端面に近接させ、ガススプレー2
0からガスを噴出させてフェルール端面の異物を吹き飛
ばし清掃することができる。またガススル−20の代り
に吸引ポンプ21を取シ付け、フェルール端面の異物を
吸引して清掃することもできる。

シ構成されたことを特徴とする光コネクタ清掃治具。 2、前記パイプの光コネクタに対向する端部に清掃用の
布類を付けた捧を、他端に回転用のつまみを固定したこ
とを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項記載の光コネクタ
