Abstract

PURPOSE:To properly correct curl according to the thickness of a business sheet by providing a business-sheet thickness detecting means and adjusting the curl correction amount by a curl correcting means. CONSTITUTION:On the business sheet 1 onto which toner 2 is applied passes through a developing process in a copying machine, and the fixation of toner is carried-out in a fixing apparatus constituted of a heating roller 4 and a pressing roller 5, and curl is generated because of the difference of water content on each face of the business sheet 1. A curl correcting apparatus 6 is installed on the downstram side of the fixing apparatus in order to correct the curl, and correction for curl is carried-out according to the degree of intrusion of the curl correcting roller 10 into a curl correcting belt 9. In this case, the amount of intrusion of the roller 10 is controlled by turning a link 11 around the shaft of a trailing gear 12 by a motor 14 through a driving gear 13 and the trailing gear 12, and the motor 14 is controlled by a controller 15 according to the output of a paper-sheet thickness detecting apparatus 16.
