  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 エンジンから触媒コンバータまでの距離１１と、触媒コ
    ンバータからメインマフラまでの距離１２と、メインマ
    フラから吐出口までの距離１３との３者の比が、約１：
    ２：２となる位置に、触媒コンバータと、拡張要素を主
    体にしたメインマフラとを配設し、かつ上記触媒コンバ
    ータとメインマフラとの間の中央部あるいはメインマフ
    ラと吐出口との間の中Ｃ 央部に、ｆ　＝４　Ｌ　（ｃ：音速、Ｌ：エンジンから
    吐出口までの排気系全長）の周波数に合わせた共鳴器を
    配設したことを特徴とする自動車用エンジンの排気装置
    。
