Conventionally, when machining can body plate material, both edges of the material were simultaneously processed using a molding system consisting of an upper mold and a lower mold, so that the elongation during processing was reduced. There were problems such as dimensional errors remaining after the process was completed, resulting in variations in can diameter, etc., or distortion in the material because there was no place for processing distortion to escape.

However, in this invention, when performing the above-mentioned edge processing, processing is applied to both edges of the material so that processing of the other side edge is carried out at a time when the processing of one side edge of the material no longer affects the other side edge. Since the upper mold for forming the can body plate is constructed by giving a time difference to the arrival time of each upper mold to the lower mold, it becomes possible to obtain a can body plate with specified dimensions and without distortion, which solves the problems of the conventional method. This solved the problem.

That is, to explain this invention with reference to an embodiment, lower molds 2 and 3 are installed corresponding to both side edges of a can body plate material 1, and an elevating plate 4 is placed on the upper side while sandwiching the can body plate material 1. Upper mold 5 through

is constantly pushed out of the storage chamber 7, and
A storage chamber 11 in which a flange 9 protruding from the outside of the upper part of the upper mold 7 and a flange 10 protruding from the inside of the lower part of the storage chamber 7 are engaged with each other, and the other upper mold 6 is formed on the other side of the elevating plate 4. The upper mold 6 is housed in the inner mold via a spring 12 and is always biased to be extruded like the upper mold 5, and the collar 13 of the upper mold 6 and the storage chamber 1
1 and the mold parts 5 of the upper molds 5 and 6.
The base 5b of the upper mold 5 is configured to be slightly longer than the base 6b of the upper mold 6 so that the heights of the a*6a relative to the lower molds 2 and 3 are different.

The difference in length between the bases 5b and 6b of the upper molds 5 and 6 is such that the influence of the shaping of one side edge of the can body plate material 1 by the upper mold 5 and the lower mold 2 does not appear on the other side edge. Immediately after the mold part 6 of the upper mold 6
It is sufficient if the mold a reaches the lower mold 3, and in the embodiment, when the molding of one side edge is completed, the molding of the other side edge is started.

In the figure, reference numeral 15 denotes a horizontal sliding member disposed opposite to the outside of the lower mold 3, and is designed to approach the lower mold 3 side when molding by the upper mold 6 and lower mold 3 is completed.

Since the lengths of the bases 5b and 6b of the upper molds 5 and 6 are different,
When the lifting plate 4 is lowered, the upper mold 5 first moves as shown in the second figure.
reaches the lower mold 2, and the mold portion 5a of the upper mold 5 and the mold portion 2a of the lower mold 2 bend and form one side edge of the can body plate material 1 as shown in the figure.

At this time, the other side edge of the can body plate material 1 is still in a free state, so the effects caused by the processing described above do not remain in the center of the can body plate material 1, and are absorbed by the movement of the can body plate material 1. can do.

Next, when the elevating plate 4 is lowered again, the cushioning material 8 on the upper mold 5 side is reduced as shown in FIG. Then, the other side edge of the can body plate material 1 is processed using both mold parts 6at3a.

At this time, the horizontal sliding member 15 also moves toward the lower mold 3 side and cooperates with the step portion 3b of the lower mold 3 to bend the side edge end of the can body plate material 1.

Through the above process, a can body plate 17 with folded parts 16a and 16b formed on both side edges is obtained (FIG. 4). The portion is pressurized to form a seam 18 and a can body 19 (FIG. 5) is obtained.

That is, according to this invention, processing of both side edges of the can body plate material is started at a time when the processing of one side edge does not affect the other side edge. In this way, the upper molds corresponding to both side edges are made uneven, making it possible to form a can body plate with specified dimensions and without deformation or distortion such as wrinkles or waving. Furthermore, since the rain top mold is attached to a common lifting plate, by raising and lowering the single lifting plate like the conventional upper mold, it is possible to obtain a difference in the timing of pressing both side edges of the can body plate material.

In a device that folds and forms both side edges of a can body plate material using an upper die and a lower die, each upper die corresponding to both side edges of a can body plate material is elastically held onto a common lifting plate via a buffer member. However, the installation heights of the mold parts of the rain mold are made uneven so that there is a time difference in the timing of reaching the lower mold of the rain mold, and the difference in the installation height of the mold parts of the rain mold is equal to one side. An upper die for forming a can body plate whose distance is equal to or longer than the distance that the upper die descends while pressing the can body plate material.
