In addition, there was a conventional system in which a pair of accelerator pedals were connected to a pair of accelerator devices to perform forward/reverse switching operations, but this required two accelerator devices, making the entire mechanism complex and complicated. The drawback was that it was expensive.

The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate the above-mentioned conventional defects by using a single accelerator device with forward and reverse accelerator pedals that are operated independently of each other, and with a forward and reverse limit switch. To provide a forward/reverse switching accelerator mechanism for a battery forklift truck or the like, which can easily perform forward/reverse switching operation simply by stepping on an accelerator pedal by providing corresponding accelerator pedals.

In addition, if the forward accelerator pedal 10 is depressed beyond a certain level,
The limit switch LSA 2 of the accelerator device 1 is closed, and the high-speed electromagnetic relay MS is activated to open its normally open contact M.
S-a is closed to stop the pulse to the chopper circuit CH, and the normally open contact MS-a' connected in parallel to the chopper circuit is closed, causing the travel motor DM to rotate at high speed.
