Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the use of a replica base even with wrong ultraviolet ray transmittance by forming a stamper metallic mold to a flat form and irradiating an ultraviolet ray from the stamper side in forming the replica through the use of the flat stamper. CONSTITUTION:A photoresist 2 is coated on a thick glass substrate 1, a desired signal is recorded by using laser light to form a master disk 3. A metal 4 such as A or Ni is adhered to the master disk, then an ultraviolet curing resin (UV resin) 5-1 is coated and a substrate 6 made of a transparent acrylic plate is pressed, then an ultraviolet ray is irradiated to cure the UV resin 5-1. In exfoliating the UV resin 5-1 from the metallic layer 4 finally, the pattern of the master disk is copied to the base side. Then a material 8 such as cellulose acetate is coated to the stamper to form the exfoliated boundary layer. After the UV resin 5-2 is coated on the layer, the preceding substrate and the stamper are pressed together to cure the UV resin. A replica base with wrong ultraviolet ray transmittance is used by irradiating the ultraviolet ray 11 from the stamper side in this case.

Here, an optical disk is one in which desired signals are recorded on a recording film on a disk-shaped substrate such as glass using a laser beam. Possible applications include video disks, PCM disks, document seven-isle digital disks, and holographic disks.

Conventionally, a disk has been manufactured by manufacturing a replica from a recorded glass master disc with a 7-oto-reshift on the basis of a stand bar mold manufactured by plating technology. However, since the stanbar mold made by plating has poor flatness, replicas made from this have uneven thickness and large vertical vibrations when rotated. Furthermore, when a replica is manufactured, "bubbles" are likely to be generated on the surface of the replica, resulting in signal loss and dropout of the reproduced signal, which is one of the causes of performance deterioration of the replica.

In order to eliminate such drawbacks, the present invention provides a method for making a flat standby mold during disk duplication, and furthermore, when making a replica using this flat standby, ultraviolet rays are irradiated from the standby side. It is desirable to be able to use even a material with poor ultraviolet transmittance as a replica substrate.

It can be used as 9. If the release agent or metal such as At is removed at the same time, it is possible to reapply it to the entire surface of the glass master 3 and then repeat the same process to create a master or stamper again. In this way, the stamper described above can be made by using the glass master 3 many times until the uneven pattern is broken.
