On the other hand, a gravity dehydrator has the advantage of being able to process a large amount with a relatively simple device, but has the disadvantage of poor dewatering performance. For this reason, in order to improve the dewatering performance of gravity dehydrators, water-containing substances have been treated by increasing the size of the device or by combining it with a press type dehydrator. For example, Tokko Sho 4
Publication No. 6-1675 discloses that a suspension containing a polymer flocculant is supplied to a cylindrical rotating container whose axis of rotation is kept almost horizontal, and the container is rotated while maintaining a certain level of water level in the container. Therefore, a dehydration method is disclosed, which is characterized in that a suspended substance in a liquid is made into pellets, and then these pellets and the liquid are introduced into a rotary screen to separate the liquid. Also, Utility Model Application Publication No. 49-14343 related to the present inventor
Publication No. 4 describes a rotary container having a baffle plate on the inner circumferential wall, a rotary container in which the circumferential wall is entirely made of a net-like member, and a rotary container having a baffle plate in the inner circumferential wall and divided into a plurality of chambers by a donut-shaped frame. A sludge dewatering and solidifying device is disclosed, which is formed by combining a rotating container as a separate unit. As a result of intensive research to overcome the above-mentioned drawbacks, the present inventors have provided a method for treating water-containing substances with excellent dehydration performance by adding an extremely simple configuration to the conventional method for treating water-containing substances. They have discovered that it is possible and have completed the present invention.

Generally, in the dehydration process of a water-containing substance, the water-containing substance usually moves, so the method of the present invention can be widely used. The spherical or cylindrical object used in the present invention only needs to have a specific gravity of 1 or more, but it is preferably larger than the specific gravity of the water-containing substance.

Further, in the present invention, it is preferable that only the water-containing substance is taken out from the cylindrical rotating dehydration container, and the spherical objects remain in the container. In the present invention, a spherical or cylindrical object as described above is thrown onto the top of a moving water-containing substance, and effective dewatering efficiency can be obtained by the rotational movement of this object.

This spherical or cylindrical object rotates with the rotation of the cylindrical rotating dehydration container, whereby the water-containing substance is dehydrated by the weight of the spherical or cylindrical object, so that the dehydration rate of the water-containing substance is improved. The present invention will now be explained with reference to the drawings, which are examples, but are not limited thereto.

When the raw sludge 4 is supplied to the rotary screen 1 and rotated, the water-containing substance 6 is dehydrated while being rotated on the inner wall of the rotary screen 1. At this time, since a plurality of spherical objects 3 are present within the rotary screen, the water-containing substance 6 is sandwiched between the spherical objects 3 and the rotary screen 1 and is further dehydrated by the weight of the spherical objects 3. A separated liquid receiver 5 is provided below the rotary screen 1. A dehydrated material receiver 7 for collecting dehydrated material 8 is also provided at one end of the rotary screen. FIG. 2 shows another embodiment of the present invention, in which 11 is a belt conveyor for conveying water-containing substances, 12 and 12' are drive rollers, and 13 is an endless conveyor belt, and the belt conveyor 11 has an upward slope. It is installed as follows.

The water-containing substance 6 is supplied to the upper section of the endless conveyor belt 13 via the hopper 15, and is dehydrated while moving on an upward slope. In this case, if the spherical object 3 is present, the water-containing substance 6 is effectively dehydrated by the rotational movement of the spherical object 3.
