The above-mentioned insulating film is conventionally manufactured by a high frequency sputtering method. As shown in Fig. 1, a sputtering device is used which has a cathode electrode (door 2 and an anode electrode 3) installed opposite each other in a Bernould \-1.A sputtering device is used which has a cathode electrode (door 2) and an anode electrode 3.The anode electrode 3 has four substrates to which an insulating film is deposited. ''Secondly, from a target 5 made of an insulator mounted on the cathode electrode 2 with the surface to be adhered facing the cathode electrode 2 and with a predetermined high frequency power source of 10 kg between both electrodes 2 and 3, , argon cations, etc., and adhere to the substrate 4 to form an insulating film. The substrate 4 will be explained in more detail with reference to FIG. A transparent electrode 7 is formed, and in order to take out the electrode, the end of the transparent electrode 7 is covered with a metal mask 8, and then an insulating film 9 is formed by sputtering. As shown in Figure 2, a metal mask is used to screen the insulating material using a structural screening device, and an insulating film is formed to cover the transparent electrode. A reduction phenomenon of electrodes often occurs. For example, when an indium tin oxide (hereinafter abbreviated as 1, T.0) film is used as a transparent electrode to a thickness of 100 mm,
0X, using a stainless steel metal mask under the following conditions to apply silicon dioxide to the 1. The T,0 film appears to be black and colored.

This is because, during the guttering process, a discharge occurs between the surface of the glass substrate, which has been oxidized by cation species such as argon cations, and the anode electrode, which is normally at a potential of 2, and an instantaneous inflow of electrons occurs. . As a result, the transparent electrode partially turns black and loses its transparency, so that it no longer functions as a transparent electrode of a display element.

(Object of the Invention) The present invention provides a method for forming an insulating film which eliminates the drawbacks of the conventional method of forming an insulating film by stumbling and prevents blackening of a transparent conductive film. (Structure of the Invention) In order to achieve the above object, the present invention is characterized in that an insulating film is formed by the following method. I) Form an insulating film on a plurality of electrodes made of a transparent conductive film by S-R stumbling with a mask so that the electrodes are not electrically short-circuited 0 Meets these conditions Various masking methods can be considered, but a method that is easy to form layers and is inexpensive is to use an insulating material as the material of the mask itself, and use an insulating mask. Alternatively, if a mask made of a layered material such as gold is used, an insulator may be interposed between the substrate and the mask to provide electrical insulation.
