Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a rider to adjust the longitudinal position of a head rest easily with one hand and smoothly without moving the head rest stepwise, by arranging the head rest such that a shift member is shifted with rewpect to a guide member through rack and pinion gears by operating a control member. CONSTITUTION:A guide member 23 for guiding a seat in front and back directions is fixed on the upper end of a stay which can be inserted into or drawn out from the seat back of the seat. The guide member 23 is provided with U- shaped guide sections 24 on its both sides, and with a rack gear 29 at the central portion thereof. A shifting member 25 having sliders 26 to be engaged with the guide sections 24 is provided on the guide member 23, and a head rest body is attached to the shifting member 25. A fitting recess 31 is formed at the center of the lower face of the shifting member 25, while an approximately cylindrical housing 33 is integrally formed over the recess so as to extend in the transverse direction of the shifting member 25. A pinion gear 36 to be engaged with the rack gear 29 is housed in the housing 33 so as to be rotated by the control member 43.

(b) Prior Art As a conventional headrest longitudinal adjustment device, there is one shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 of Japanese Utility Model Application Laid-Open No. 55-32176, for example. That is, 1.1 is a stay that projects from the top of the seat pack. A guide member 4 having mouth-shaped guide portions 3.3 on both sides is fixed to this stay 1.1. This guide member 4 includes the guide portion 3.3.
A movable member 6 having a fitting portion 5.5 that fits with the inner cover 7 is provided so as to be slidable in the front and rear directions, and an inner cover 7 is fixed to the movable member 6. Further, a spring 8 is stretched between the guide member 4 and the moving member 6, and the guide member 4
In contrast, the moving member 6 is always urged forward. Furthermore, a lock plate 9 is installed on the top of the moving member 6, and is slidable in a direction perpendicular to the moving direction.
An operating knob 10 is provided at one end of this. Two lock claws 11.11 are protruded from the lock plate 9, and the guide member 4 faces the lock claws 11.11.
A plurality of lock holes 12 are provided in the guide portions 3, 3 in the seat front and rear directions. The lock plate 9 is biased by a spring 13 in a direction in which the lock pawls 11.11 engage with the lock holes 12. In addition,
14 is the urethane foam, and 15 is the epidermis.

Further, a substantially cylindrical housing 33 is integrally formed above the fitting recess 31 of the moving member 25.
A stator 34 is integrally formed on one end of the stator 314, and a metal sleeve 34a is press-fitted or ultrasonically welded into the stator 314. A driven shaft 35 is provided to pass through the housing 33.
A pinion gear 36 and a cam rotor 37 that mesh with the rack gear 29 are fixed to the cam rotor 37 . This cam rotor 37

b, 39a, 39b are compression links 40a, 4
0b to J: Since the cam rotor 37 is pressed toward both ends of the recam surfaces 37a and 37b, the cam rotor 37 maintains a locked state in which rotation in both directions is restricted within the sleeve 34a. Further, a pair of pressers 41a are provided between the outer circumferential surface of both ends of the cam rotor 37 and the inner circumferential surface of the sleeve 34a.
, Il, 1b is rotatably supported on the driven shaft 35. Therefore, by rotating the release member 41 in either direction, the first or second lock bins 38a, 38b, 3
It becomes possible to move the compression springs 40a, 40tz7) inwardly against the biasing force of the cam surfaces 37a, 37b to release the locked state. The driven shaft 35 can be rotated in a desired direction. In this case, since the sleeve 34a is made of metal with high strength and precision, it is durable and can always maintain stable locking strength.

Then, the cam rotor 37 and the pinion gear 37 rotate integrally with the driven shaft 35 in the same direction, and the movable member 25 moves due to the engagement between the pinion gear 37 and the rack gear 29. Therefore, the headrest 22 can be moved and adjusted steplessly in a desired direction. Then, when the operation of the operating member 43 is stopped, the rotation of the rotor 37 is regulated as described above, resulting in a locked state.

Further, in the above embodiment, the guide portion 24.2 of the guide member 23
After inserting the sliding part 26.26 of the moving member 25 into the slot 4, the screw 28 is loosened and the rack gear 29 is moved along the long hole 27, so that the inner side surface 30a of the four strip 30 is inserted into the tip surface 32 of the convex strip 32.
a, the distal end surface 32a on the movable member 25 side and the sliding portion 26 are inserted between the back side surface 30a and the guide portion 24 opposing this, and when the screw 28 is tightened, the guide member The rattling between 23 and the moving member 25 is eliminated,
It is possible to absorb variations in dimensional accuracy. Therefore, not only the moving member 25 can slide smoothly, but also the rack gear 29 and pinion gear 37 can mesh reliably.

Furthermore, after being assembled in this way, the concave line 30 and the convex line 32
are fitted into each other, and the rack gear 29 and the moving member 25 are integrated, and even if the guide member 23 or the moving member 25 is bent by a large load, the rack gear 29 and pinion gear 37 will not be separated greatly and will be able to mesh with each other. is maintained, the pinion gear does not go overboard, and feeding errors can be prevented.

Note that the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment. For example, the rack gear may be provided on the moving member side, and the pinion gear may be provided on the guide member side. Further, the concave portion may be provided on the moving member and the convex portion may be provided on the rack gear V. (f) Effects of the Invention As is clear from the above, according to the configuration of the present invention, the movable member is moved relative to the guide member via the rack gear and the pinion gear by operating the operating member, thereby eliminating the front and rear positions of the headrest. Can be adjusted in stages. The headrest moves back and forth just by operating the operating member, and when the operating member is stopped, the headrest stops moving at that position, making adjustment extremely easy and allowing adjustment with only one hand. Furthermore, the meshing of the rack gear and pinion gear is integrated by fitting the concave portion and the convex portion on the rack gear side and the pinion gear side, and even if the guide member or the moving member is bent by a large load, misfeeding due to the pinion gear V is prevented. Is possible.
