In the MSS system, cartridges are stored in honeycomb-shaped hexagonal cells in the magazine, and when data is processed, data is read or written after the required cartridge is taken out from the cell. Therefore, as shown in Fig. 1, a control data set is created in which a cell address is assigned to a cell, a volume serial number is assigned to a cartridge, and a cartridge setting table is formed from the cartridges stored in the cell address. )
Online processing using this MSS is performed using system control information called CLS that controls this entire system.

があつた。 In this case, when data is backed up at time t 0 in FIG. 2, each cell at cell address 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.
), cells 1 and 3 were empty, and cells 2 and 4 stored cartridges with volume serial numbers B and D (hereinafter referred to as cartridges B and D), but at time t 1 , something happened. Due to the reason,
When cartridge B is ejected from cell 2 and cartridge C is inserted, the cartridge setting table is not rewritten and remains at time t0 . Data processing is performed in this state, and when cartridge B is taken out from cell 2 at time t2 , it is detected that it is cartridge C, and an error message is displayed. Although the data processing itself can be continued even if an error is displayed, the cartridge setting table of the control data set is not repaired, so the processing continues while the abnormality of the control data set is detected. Therefore, when an abnormality in the control data set is detected, the system is brought down and the program is stopped in order to repair the control data set. After identifying the abnormality, the system administrator manually performs a batch job. I had to modify the table as shown in the dotted line in Figure 3C. Therefore, there was a problem in that it placed a considerable burden on the system operation.

In order to improve this problem, the present invention automatically creates a control data set when an error is displayed indicating that a cartridge abnormality in a cell (different cartridges in a cell, presence or absence of a cartridge, etc.) is detected. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for modifying a control data set.

ル1を修正する。 Next, the table reading unit 2 reads out the cartridge number stored in the cell address where the error occurred, and assigns this to the cartridge number.
After setting the cartridge in the register 10, the cartridge setting table 1 is sequentially read to detect whether the cartridge is stored elsewhere, and if it is written that the cartridge is stored elsewhere, the cartridge reading section 6 confirms this. , based on this, the cartridge setting table 1 is modified.
