Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure that a resistor is provided with a clear semi-circular shape, the width and height of the resistor can be freely changed and the resistor can be provided irrespective of the shape of a substrate, by a method wherein a resistor paste placed in a dispenser is pushed out through the tip of the dispenser to form a resistor. CONSTITUTION:A pressure is applied to the dispenser 1 from a pressure device 4 by opening a valve, whereby the resistor paste 5 contained in the dispenser 1 is pushed out through the tip of the dispenser 1. The paste 5 thus pushed out is adhered to the substrate 6 in an elongate form to form the resistor. The total sequence is controlled by a controlling circuit 11, which controls the valve 3, the pressure device 4 and a table-controlling circuit 10. The paste 5 is provided with a clear shape with a semi-circular cross-sectional shape, and the width and height of the resistor can be freely changed easily and freely by a combination of the tip diameter of the dispenser 1, the pressure applied by the pressure device 4 and the feeding velocity of the table 9.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] In the conventional method of manufacturing a thermal head as described above, the printing method uses a mesh screen plate (12), so the shape of the resistor has mesh marks. Therefore, the ceramic substrate (6) to be printed is limited to a planar shape, and it is not possible to print on a convex or slanted substrate.

Also, the width and height of the resistor are different from the mesh screen version (12
), so there was also the problem that it could not be controlled freely.

[Function] In this invention, since the resistor of the thermal head is formed using a dispenser, the shape of the resistor is constant and the width and height can be changed freely. It becomes possible to form a resistor even if the resistor does not have a planar shape.
