The present invention overcomes the drawbacks of the above-mentioned conventional devices. The details of the present invention will be described below along with examples. Figure 1 shows a reading mode in which original paper is used as the sheet to be conveyed and the image is read by an image reading unit, and a reading mode in which a recording paper such as thermal recording paper is used as the sheet to be conveyed and an image recording unit such as a thermal head. There is a recording mode in which images are recorded, and an image is read by the image reading section using a recording paper with an image written in a predetermined range on the sheet being conveyed, and then the image is recorded by the image recording section outside the said range on the same sheet. It has a test mode that allows you to test the operation of the main unit and the recording unit. In Fig. 1, 1 is a paper feed table on which paper sheets such as originals and recording paper are placed and guided into the apparatus, 2 is a detection switch that detects the presence or absence of paper sheets on the paper feed table 1, and 3 is a rubber roller. The conveying roller is made of a material having an elastic outer peripheral surface and a large coefficient of friction, and is connected to a motor (not shown) or the like and rotated in steps by a detection switch 2. Reference numeral 4 denotes a paper feed plate, the tip of which is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the conveying roller 3, and the other end held by a holder 5. A paper position detection sensor 6 detects the paper sheet fed by the conveyance roller 3 and the paper feed plate 4. Reference numeral 7 denotes a paper pressing plate whose tip presses the outer circumferential surface of the conveying roller 3 parallel to the roller over almost the entire width so that the paper sheet follows the outer circumferential surface of the conveying roller 3, and the sheet is pressed by step rotation of the roller. It is used for transporting. Reference numeral 8 denotes a long light source such as a fluorescent lamp, which illuminates the image reading position B provided near the rear of the paper pressing plate 7 on the outer peripheral surface of the conveying roller 3 in a direction parallel to the roller over the entire width of the paper sheet. It is something. Numeral 9 is a lens that collects reflected light from the image reading position B and forms an image on an image sensor 10 disposed at the rear. The image sensor 10 receives the reflected light from the image reading position B and converts the optical signal into an electrical signal. It is composed of a large number of light receiving elements, and sequentially scans itself to read the image of the paper sheet in a linear manner in the transport direction. Reference numeral 11 denotes a guide plate that guides the paper along the outer peripheral surface of the conveying roller 3 to the image recording position C. Reference numeral 12 denotes a thermal head that records an image linearly in a direction perpendicular to the conveying direction of the paper sheet, and its recording portion is located at an image recording position C on the outer circumferential surface of the conveying roller 3 and is pressed against the outer circumferential surface of the roller. Then, the paper sheets are conveyed by step rotation of the rollers. Reference numeral 13 denotes a discharge roller which is pressed against the conveyance roller 3 and is rotated by the conveyance roller 3 to discharge the sheet. 14

Next, the operation of each mode will be explained. In the case of reading mode, set the mode changeover switch to reading mode, then place the original paper with the image written side up on the paper feed table 1 and insert it in the direction of arrow A. The motor is driven by the detection switch 2 and the paper is transported. The rollers 3 and 4 paper feed plates are drawn in. The leading edge of the drawn-in original paper is detected by the paper position detection sensor 6 and is conveyed to the image reading position B. The light source 8 and the image sensor 10 start operating when the original paper is conveyed to the image reading position B, and read images sequentially in a linear manner by the step drive of the motor, and the end of the original paper is detected by the paper position detection sensor 6. This continues until the image reading position B is passed. The read manuscript paper passes along the outer peripheral surface of the conveyance roller 3 between a guide plate 11 and a thermal head 12 and is collected into a stacker 14 where it is discharged by a discharge roller 13. The motor that drives the conveyance roller 3 is driven until the end of the original paper is detected by the paper position detection sensor 6 and is ejected by the ejection roller 13. Note that in the reading mode, the thermal head 12 does not operate, so the original paper is simply transferred to the transport roller 3.
The material is conveyed along the outer circumferential surface of the material.

In the case of recording mode, set the mode changeover switch to recording mode, then place thermal recording paper with the recording side facing up on the paper feed table 1 and insert it in the direction of arrow A. The motor is driven by the detection switch 2 and the paper is transported. It is drawn in by rollers 3 and paper feed plate 4. The leading edge of the drawn thermal recording paper is detected by the paper position detection sensor 6 and moved to the image reading position B, the guide plate 11.
The recording medium is conveyed to the image recording position C through the recording medium, and stops at a position between the conveyance roller 3 and the thermal head 12.
At this time, the light source 8 and the image sensor 10 are not operated. The thermal recording paper positioned at the image recording position C waits in that state until it receives an image signal, and when the image signal is received, the thermal head 12 is operated together with the motor to sequentially record images in a linear manner. The recording operation of the thermal head 12 is stopped by the reception end signal, but if the length of the thermal recording paper to be transported is short, the end of the recording paper is detected by the paper position detection sensor 6 and the recording paper is transported the distance to the image recording position C. Try to stop after being done. The recorded thermal recording paper is conveyed by the conveying roller 3 a distance from the end of the recording paper detected by the six paper position detection sensors to the discharge roller 13 and collected by the stacker 14 .

Next, the case of test mode will be explained. The test mode is for reading an image and copying and recording the image, and is like a combination of the reading mode and the recording mode. The sheet of paper used in the test mode is thermal recording paper, an example of which is shown in FIG. The recording surface of the test recording paper is divided into sections at regular intervals L in the transport direction. The first area in the transport direction (direction of arrow D) is for recording (a), the second area is for reading (b),
The third area is designated for recording c and then alternately for reading and recording, and an image is written in advance in the reading area before operation. The interval L between each area is equal to the distance from the image reading position B to the image recording position C of the apparatus. Switch the mode selector switch to the test mode, place the test recording paper with the image written in the reading area in advance on the paper feed table 1 with the recording side facing up, and insert it in the direction of arrow A. The motor is driven by the detection switch 2 and the paper is transported. It is drawn into the rollers 3 and paper feed plate 4. The leading edge of the drawn-in test recording paper is detected by the paper position detection sensor 6 and is conveyed to the image recording position C. When the leading edge of the test recording paper is located at image recording position C, the first recording area is located at image recording position C, and the second reading area is located at image reading position B. Next, light source 8
Then, the operation of the image sensor 10 is started, and the image of the second reading area is read. The read image signal is sent to the thermal head 12, and the image is recorded in the first recording area by the thermal head 12. Thereafter, reading and recording are performed continuously, but when a recording area where no image is written is located at the image reading position, no image signal is generated, so the thermal head 12 does not record. Therefore, no copy image is recorded in the reading area.

When the end of the test recording paper is detected by the paper position detection sensor 6 and passes the image reading position B, the recording operation is also stopped at the same time as reading, and only the motor is driven to eject the test recording paper. The test recording paper discharged in this manner has original images and copied images recorded alternately at regular intervals as shown in FIG.

Figure 4 shows a test recording paper used in another embodiment of the test mode, and shows two sheets parallel to the transport direction.
For example, the right half area is for reading and the left half area is for recording. In this case, the conveyance of the recording paper is the same as in the previous case, but
When connecting the image sensor 10 and the thermal head 12, the halves are replaced one at a time. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 4, the ejected test recording paper has the original image and the copy image recorded in half on the right and on the left. In the alignment device, the image reading position B and the image recording position C are separated by the distance L, so that the copy image is written in a state that is advanced by the distance L from the original image.

In the configuration of the present invention as described above, the paper sheet conveyance mechanism is simple and low cost, since it requires only one conveyance roller and a pressing means for pressing the paper sheet against the outer peripheral surface of the roller. Furthermore, since the document and the recording paper can be conveyed on the same path, the apparatus can be made smaller. Furthermore, since the document or recording paper is conveyed along the outer circumferential surface of one conveyance roller, there is little vibration of the paper sheet due to stepwise conveyance, so noise is low. Further, by conveying one sheet of recording paper and performing reading and recording at the same time, the operation of the apparatus can be easily tested. Furthermore, since the original image and the recorded image are recorded on one sheet of recording paper, it is easy to compare and contrast, and the data can be easily managed.
