BACKGROUND TECHNOLOGY Hemming is a process in which the edges of a first plate are bent at right angles in advance to form a joint, and a second plate to be joined to the first plate is attached to another plate to be joined alone or at the same time. This method joins multiple plates to each other by stacking them together and then bending the joint onto the edge of the second plate. It is widely used in the manufacture of car doors, bonnets, and other body components. There is. This hemming process generally involves a pre-bending process in which the edge of a first plate is beveled at an acute angle to the edge of a second plate, and then the beveled joint is completely bent down to form a second plate. Normally, this is done in two stages: final bending, in which the edge of the plate is strongly sandwiched between the first plate and the first plate. Therefore, when performing both preliminary bending and main bending with one hemming device, the preliminary bending blade is first applied to the workpiece supported by the lower die to perform preliminary bending. After retracting the preliminary bending blade, the main bending blade is activated to perform the main bending.

Actions and Effects As described above, the hemming device according to the present invention has the following features:
Since the hemming mold is removable from the hemming device main body, by preparing a plurality of hemming molds and replacing them as appropriate, it is possible to perform hemming on a plurality of types of workpieces. In other words, the main body of the hemming device, which is the most expensive of all hemming devices, can be used in common for multiple types of workpieces, which has the effect of significantly reducing equipment costs compared to conventional hemming devices. It will be done. In addition, the removed hemming die can be stored off-line, and the flow of workpieces does not become complicated, which improves production efficiency.

Moreover, the upper base and the lower base, on which the lower die, preliminary bending blade, motion conversion mechanism, main bending blade, etc. are assembled, are connected by a plurality of guide posts so that they can approach and separate from each other, and the hemming device main body Since the relative position of both bases does not change even when removed from the hemming device, there is no need to perform adjustment work the next time it is attached to the hemming device main body, making it easy to change setups when the type of workpiece changes. Therefore, from this point as well, the effect of improving work efficiency can be obtained.

In addition, the hemming type not only includes an upper base and a lower base that are connected to each other so as to be able to approach and separate by a plurality of guide rods as described above, but also include a hemming device main body that is attached to a fixed member fixed to the frame. It includes a movable member driven by a pressure device, and a hemming die is attached between these movable members and a fixed member, so there is no action between the main bending blade and the lower die during main bending. The reaction force of the pressurizing force is received by the frame of the hemming device main body, and the hemming mold itself can be made to have relatively low rigidity. Therefore, the manufacturing cost of a plurality of hemming dies, which must be prepared, is reduced, and the hemming dies are lightweight, making it easy to attach and detach them.

It should be noted that a considerable portion of the reaction force of the force applied by the pre-bending blade to the workpiece during pre-bending may be received by the hemming mold, but the pre-bending is bent at right angles. Since it is sufficient to simply deform and tilt the joint, this reaction force is significantly smaller than that required during actual bending, which requires strong pressure, and is hardly a problem.

Further, between the lower mold 11 and the main bending blade 12, a preliminary bending blade 13 is held, and the preliminary bending blade 13 is held to facilitate the movement of the lower base 1 and the upper base 2 toward and away from each other. A preliminary bending mechanism 17 is attached to the lower base 1 and includes a motion conversion mechanism that converts the movement towards and away from the main bending blade 12 into a preliminary bending movement of the preliminary bending blade 13. This will be explained in detail later.

The hemming mold 20 equipped with the above components includes a hanging bracket 14 fixed to the upper surface of the upper base 2.
The lower base 1 is raised linearly by a movable member that is suspended from the frame of the hemming device main body and raised and lowered by a pressurizing device such as a jacking device (not shown) disposed below the hemming device. At this time, a pressure block (not shown) as a fixing member fixed to the frame comes into contact with a pressure receiving block 15 fixed to the upper surface of the upper base 2 to prevent further rise, and the lower die 11 and the main bending blade 12 so that pressure can be applied between them.

Via the bracket 36 and attachment member 39 attached to 2, the pre-bending blade 13 is also moved along a similar trajectory to the position indicated at 13'. That is, the preliminary bending blade 13 is moved in a substantially horizontal direction during the movement, and the outer panel 5
As it approaches the joint portion 55a of No. 5, it approaches the lower mold 11 while being moved substantially vertically downward. As a result, the joint portion 55a is inclined by approximately 45°.

After the preliminary bending is completed, the lower base 1 (see FIG. 1) is raised continuously, and the roller 43 is moved to the ratchet 4 as shown at 47' in FIG.
7, the first horizontal shaft 21 is rotated by the action of the tension spring 53 in the opposite direction as described above, ie counterclockwise in FIG. This rotation causes the second and third horizontal shafts 24,
25, protrusions 31, 32, bracket 36, etc. are returned to their original positions by tracing trajectories opposite to those described above, and as a result, the preliminary bending blade 13 is returned to its original position. At this time, roller 4

When the main bending is completed, the lower base 1 is lowered. During this downward movement, the roller 43 of the first horizontal shaft 21 is in a position to engage with the ratchet 47, but the ratchet 47 rotates counterclockwise from the horizontal state as shown by the chain double-dashed line in FIG. to allow the roller 43 to pass. Further, the lowering of the lower base 1 is regulated by the head 4a of the rod 4 coming into contact with the upper end surface of the guide tube 3 in FIG.
In this way, all the components of the hemming die 20 are returned to their original positions.
