る工程と、該プレス加工後のリング素材に調質を行う工
程と、該調質後のリング素材に後加工を行う工程とから

明したが、楕円リングの場合には、切断工程において自
由合い口すきまに見合う寸法で切欠き、調質工程で自己

(発明の効果)
以上説明したように、本発明によれば、断面円形の鋼線
材をコイリングするので、コイリング時のねじれ変形が
生ぜず、したがって従来のように後加工でのリング素材
の修正作業が不要となる。又、断面円形の鋼線材をコイ
リングするので、コイリング時に鋼線材がコイリング治
具に充分密着して理想的な真円又は楕円形状を得ること
ができる。又、コイリング時に鋼線材の断面が変形する
が、プレス工程で修整されるので、従来のように後加工
でのリング素材の修正作業が不要となる。更に、プレス
工程で、例えば断面形状に曲面部を有すもの、多角形状
のもの(例えばアンダカソト状ピストンリング等)、更
には、ピストンリング全円周部に於いて部分的に断面形
状が異なるもの(例えばインクラブド形状等)等の種々
の断面形状のリングを、優れた精度、品質でもってしか
も容易に得ることができる。そして、リングの大きさは
