Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for complicated control of acceleration and deceleration of a motor and for forming a control pulse train and reduce the quantity of electrode power required for acceleration or deceleration, by performing reversion of the moving direction of a printing head by collision and repulsion. CONSTITUTION:A head carriage 7 constitutes a linear motor together with a panel 8, and printing is conducted while the carriage 7 is moved rightward (leftward) relative to a printing paper 6. A potentiometer 15 is connected with the carriage 7 through a wire 10, and indicates the position of the carriage 7. Excitation of the motor is stopped when the carriage 7 comes sufficiently close to the right (left) end of a carriage guide 4. The carriage 7 collides against an elastic repelling mechanism 10, is decelerated by a spring, and a force accumulated at this time in the spring then reverses the moving direction of the carriage 7 to a leftward (rightward) direction. With the reversion of the moving direction being detected, the excitation of the motor for moving the carriage leftward (rightward) is started.

From this point K, the print head 5 is moved horizontally on the printing paper 6 and printing is performed serially. To reverse the moving direction of the head carriage, the excitation pulse width of the motor is changed, and the motor is controlled to decelerate, stop, and accelerate in the reverse direction.

The conventional serial printer described above accelerates the stepping motor to control the movement of the head carina.
Since it is operated at a constant speed, deceleration, stop (in the opposite direction), acceleration, and constant speed, it has the disadvantage that it requires the complicated work of determining the control pulse width train for acceleration and deceleration through experiments.

FIG. 1 is a block diagram of an embodiment of the present invention. The head carriage 7 constitutes a linear motor with the panel 8, and prints while moving to the right (left) on the printing paper 6. The potentiometer 15 is connected to the head carriage 7 by a wire 10, and informs the position of the head carriage 7. Head carriage 7 is on the right (left) of carriage guide 4
When you get close enough to the end, stop energizing the motor. The head carriage 7 collides with the elastic repulsion mechanism 10 and is decelerated by the spring, and the force generated at that time causes the head carriage 7 to

When it senses that the direction of movement has changed, it starts excitation of the motor in the left (right) direction. The method of controlling the motor at this time is 2.
This will be explained using the case of phase excitation. Figure 4 shows the pulse timing for energizing the motor. Basic pulse
is the basic timing for obtaining the control pulses for each phase, the excitation stop timing 17 is the evening timing when the excitation to the motor is stopped as the gear ridge 7 approaches the elastic repulsion mechanism 10, and the head carriage direction change point 18 is the head timing. Timing diagram in which the carriage 7 collides with the elastic repulsion mechanism 10 and changes its moving direction At excitation start timing 19, the head carriage 7 has moved away from the elastic repulsion mechanism 10, so the head carriage 7 is moved to the left (right) direction. .. This is the timing to start excitation by shifting the phase between φ2 by 90'.

As explained above, the present invention handles the change in the moving direction of the printer head by collision and repulsion, thereby eliminating the need for complex motor acceleration/deceleration control and the creation of control pulse trains. This has the excellent effect of reducing power consumption.
