In other words, the present invention is a positive characteristic thermistor (hereinafter referred to as a PTC thermistor) that detects the upper limit temperature.
and a PTC thermistor that detects the lower temperature limit.
A first light-emitting element such as a light-emitting diode that emits light using current or a lamp that operates at low current is connected in series, and a second light-emitting element is also connected in parallel to a PTC thermistor that detects the lower limit temperature. A voltage is applied to both ends of the circuit, and the configuration is as shown in Figure 1. In the diagram, 1 indicates a high temperature with a sudden change in resistance value.
PTC thermistor, 2 is a PTC thermistor with a low resistance value sudden change temperature connected in series with PTC thermistor 1, 3 is a light emitting diode connected in parallel with PTC thermistor 2 that detects this lower limit temperature, 5
is a diode connected in series with both PTC thermistors 1 and 2 to indicate that the temperature is below the lower limit, and 4 is a DC power supply. Also, Figure 2 shows both
It shows the relationship between the temperature and resistance value of PTC thermistors 1 and 2.

To explain the operation of this circuit, at low temperatures, both thermistors 1 and 2 have low resistance, and if the resistance value of PTC thermistor 2 is made lower than that of PTC thermistor 1, the voltage will be applied to PTC thermistor 2. Since almost no current is applied to the light emitting diode 3, no current flows to the light emitting diode 3 and no light is emitted. Also, both PTC
Since both thermistors 1 and 2 have low resistance, the light emitting diode 5 emits light to indicate that the temperature is below the lower limit. Next, when the temperature exceeds the temperature at which the resistance value of the PTC thermistor 2 suddenly changes, no current flows through the thermistor 2, and current flows through the light emitting diode 3, which emits light to indicate that a predetermined temperature has been reached. Here, if the resistance value of the PTC thermistor 1 is appropriately selected, it will serve as a current limiting resistor for the light emitting diodes 3 and 5. And the temperature
If the temperature at which the resistance value of the PTC thermistor 1 suddenly changes is exceeded, the resistance values of both the PTC thermistors 1 and 2 become high, and the light emitting diodes 3 and 5 do not emit light. In other words, the light emitting diode 5 emits light below the temperature at which the resistance value of the PTC thermistor 1 suddenly changes, and the light emitting diode 3 emits light only when the resistance value of the PTC thermistor 1 and 2 is between the temperatures at which the resistance value suddenly changes. PTC thermistor 1 with the characteristics shown in Figure 2,
When 2 is used, the light emitting diode 5 is
is turned on, and light emitting diodes 3 and 5 are turned on at 86°C to 100°C.

The resistance values of PTC thermistors 1 and 2 in FIG. 1 and their ratio should be determined by the light emission starting current and maximum current of the light emitting diode 3,
In the case of a thermistor, the shape and specific resistance can be adjusted arbitrarily, so the desired resistance can be achieved. Further, it is also possible to attach a current limiting resistor in series with the PTC thermistors 1 and 2.

The upper and lower temperature limits can be set from 30℃ to 350℃ by changing the Curie temperature of the PTC thermistor (usually barium titanate semiconductor porcelain).
Anything within the temperature range can be produced. Further, as the light emitting element, in addition to the light emitting diode, a low current tungsten lamp or the like which can be driven at low current can also be used.

As described above, the non-contact type temperature display device of the present invention is configured, and it is possible to distinguish whether the temperature is within a predetermined range, or whether it is below or above that range, based on the lighting state of the two light emitting elements. The temperature display device has a very simple structure and can be provided at low cost, and since no contacts are used, it is possible to provide a highly reliable and long-life temperature display device.
