Conventionally, electrostatic flocking technology for fiber flocking has been used as a surface processing technology to impart decorative effects, soft touch, heat retention effects, etc. to various substrates such as cloth, plastic sheet paper, and metal sheets.
It is widely used in various fields. Fiber flock sheets that use multicolored fiber flocks and form multicolored designs on the base are also known, but these sheets are insufficient in terms of the sharpness of the designs, solidity, texture, and productivity. It's not something I can be satisfied with.

The manufacturing method of such a multi-colored floating sheet is described, for example, in Japanese Patent Publication No. 39-7288 and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 1986-
As described in Publication No. 85412, adhesive is applied over the entire surface of the substrate or the entire pattern to be applied, and then the adhesive-coated substrate is fed to a series of floating operation tables. The fiber flock of that color is electrostatically flocked onto the substrate through a screen with a stencil pattern corresponding to the flocking pattern to be applied, this process is repeated for the desired number of colors, and finally heat treated. The process consists of a series of steps in which the flocked flock is fixed onto the base material.

However, in the conventional manufacturing method of multicolor flocking sheets, it is difficult to accurately position the flocking stencils of each color in the planned flocking pattern, and there are gaps in the adjacent sections of each color pattern, that is, in the contour part. This results in the disadvantage that it is impossible to avoid the formation of overlapping portions at the same time. The accuracy when positioning the screen to the pattern to be applied is on the order of 0.1 to 0.5 mm, even in the case of automatic screen printing machines where printing is performed with the material to be printed and the screen in close contact; where a certain distance must be provided between the substrate and the screen;
After the fiber flock is flown in a certain direction and passes through the screen, it is anchored to the base material and electrostatic flocking is performed, so the accuracy of the pattern formed using the screen is This is even lower than in the case of . Thus, in conventional multi-colored floating sheets, it is difficult to avoid the formation of gaps at the contours, and the design may become unclear, or the gaps may appear during use of the floating sheet. The problem is that the pattern loses its robustness due to separation of the flocking fibers and shrinkage, and even in the production of multi-colored flocking sheets, extra manpower and time are required to position the screen, which reduces productivity. The results were not fully satisfactory in terms of production cost and manufacturing cost.

The present inventors used a stencil with a stencil pattern slightly larger than the predetermined colored flocking pattern as a screen for each color to form a multicolored flocking pattern, and the contours between the different colored flocking patterns were In this case, when electrostatic flocking is performed by repeating each flock at intervals of 0.1 to 1 mm, the above-mentioned gaps are completely prevented from occurring without substantially losing the sharpness of the outline between the patterns, resulting in a robust pattern. It has been discovered that it is possible to produce a multicolored flocking sheet with excellent texture. According to the present invention, each flock is electrostatically flocked at the above-mentioned intervals in the outline between flocking patterns of different colors, so the screen positioning operation is much easier than in the conventional method. , it becomes possible to manufacture multicolored floating sheets with high productivity.

No. 1-1 showing various screens used in the present invention.
In Figures A, 1-B and 1-C, the adhesive screen 1 has a stencil pattern (openings) 2 that covers the entire flocking pattern to be applied, as shown in Figure 1-A. The flocking screen 3 used in the first electrostatic flocking process is
As shown in the figure, it has a stencil pattern (opening) 4 that substantially corresponds to the first flocking pattern of the stencil pattern 2. On the other hand, the flocking screen 6 used for the second electrostatic flocking process
As shown in Figure 1-C, the stencil pattern (opening) 7 has a stencil pattern (opening) 7 that almost corresponds to the second flocking pattern of the stencil pattern 2, and is slightly wider than the boundary line with the first flocking pattern. It has a larger contour 8. Thus the first screen 3
When electrostatic flocking of the first color is carried out using the screen 6 and electrostatic flocking of the second color is carried out using the second screen 6, an overlapping portion 9 ( Repeated electrostatic flocking is performed corresponding to Fig. 1-D). When the entire surface of the substrate is to be frozen, the adhesive may be applied to the entire surface of the substrate without using the adhesive coating screen 1 shown in FIG. 1-A. For example, when applying a third flocking pattern to a portion corresponding to the sealing portion 10 of the screen 1 in FIG. Electrostatic flocking can be performed using a screen of
It is important to ensure that overlapping portions are formed.

In FIG. 3 showing the electrostatic flocking process and FIG. 4 showing the apparatus used in the present invention, the surface of the base material 11 opposite to the side on which the adhesive layer is applied is connected to a grounded electrode or conductive support 18. A charging electrode 15 supported in contact and connected to the output terminal of the high voltage generator 14
A fiber flock 1 is placed in a pile box 16 equipped with
7 and by arranging the flocking screen 3 or 6 between the fiber flock 17 and the adhesive layer 12' of the base material 11, the electrostatic flocking operation can be easily carried out. In this case, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the screen 3 or 6 is attached to the adhesive layer 12'.
The so-called up method in which the screen is placed below the adhesive layer is suitable for the purpose of the present invention, but neither the down method in which the screen is placed above the adhesive layer nor the side method in which the screen is placed on the side of the adhesive layer. Can be adopted. In the device shown in Fig. 4,
A substrate support 19 equipped with a ground electrode 18 is provided so as to be openable and closable via a hinge 20, so that electrostatic flocking operation using an up method can be easily performed. Although the length and diameter of the fiber flock (pile) differ depending on the application, it is generally preferable to have a fiber length of 1 to 5 mm and a fineness of 10 to 30 denier. In addition to fibers, they may be dyed by pigment dyeing or other dyeing methods, and nylon fibers are preferred. Instead of applying a single color fiber flock, it is also possible to apply a mixed fiber flock of two or more colors in a single electrostatic flocking operation. The screen for flocking is preferably made of an electrically insulating mesh material, particularly a mesh of polyester fibers, polypropylene fibers, or the like. The applied voltage is preferably in the range of 20 to 100 KV. The polarity of the charging electrode may be negative depending on the type of fiber.

A multicolored flocking pattern can be obtained by repeating these steps for a desired number of colors.According to the present invention, each of the flocks is separated at intervals of 0.1 to 1 mm at the contours between the flocking patterns of different colors. By repeating electrostatic flocking, the sharpness of the outline between the patterns is not substantially lost, and the above-mentioned gaps are completely prevented, resulting in a multi-colored floss that has a sturdy pattern and excellent texture. It is now possible to produce king sheets, and the production advantage is also achieved in that the screen positioning operation is much easier than with conventional methods.

For comparison, a multicolor flocking sheet was prepared in exactly the same manner as described above, except that a multicolor flocking stencil with no overlap between the contours was used. The obtained multicolor flocking sheet has a contour between each flocking pattern,
It was observed that the occurrence of gaps and the duplication of each flock occurred randomly, and the texture and clarity of the design were unsatisfactory. This multicolored floating sheet was used as a dusting mat under the same conditions as above, but the texture and sharpness of the pattern were even more markedly deteriorated.
