Conventionally, in this type of automatic start/stop method,
When starting a car engine, the starter of the engine is automatically energized and driven in response to the depression of the clutch pedal of the car, and as the rotation speed of the starter increases while the engine is at that rotation speed. When the starter rises and completes its starting, this is detected and the power supply to the starter is cut off to stop the starter.

By the way, if the engine suddenly stops for some reason immediately after the engine has been started, the rotational speed of the engine will drop rapidly, but the rotational speed of the starter will only drop slowly. Therefore, if the starter is automatically re-energized and driven by depressing the clutch pedal in such a state, the rotational speed of the starter starts to increase from the decreasing value. For this reason, there is a significant difference in the rotational speeds of the starter and engine when the starter is reenergized, and as a result, the pinion provided on the output shaft of the starter
There has been a problem that it cannot mesh smoothly with the ring gear provided on the flywheel of the engine, causing noise such as gear noise or damage such as wear to the connection portion between the starter and the engine, such as the pinion or ring gear.

[Operation and Effect] By configuring the present invention as described above, when the power supply to the starter circuit is cut off by starting the engine when the automobile is started, the engine starts running immediately after the power supply to the starter circuit is cut off. Even if the start operation mechanism is operated again when the start operation mechanism suddenly stops due to some reason, the measurement of the required time that has already been set when power is cut off to the starter circuit is started in response to the reoperation of the start operation mechanism. At the same time, automatic re-energization of the starter circuit is prohibited, and when the required time measurement is completed, automatic re-energization of the starter circuit is allowed and the engine is restarted, so that the engine is restarted. The engine is restarted by automatically energizing the starter circuit only when the target rotational system has almost stopped, similar to the already stopped engine. Therefore, the mechanical rotation system of the starter circuit is smoothly connected to the engine,
As a result, noise at the connecting part between these two,
The rotational speed of the engine can be increased as the rotational speed of the mechanical rotation system of the starter circuit increases while preventing damage, and the engine can be restarted smoothly. In such a case, the timing of automatic re-energization of the starter circuit always coincides with the stop timing of the mechanical rotation system of the starter circuit, so that the engine can be smoothly restarted quickly after the sudden engine stop mentioned above. can be achieved.

In this embodiment configured as described above, when the ignition switch 13 is operated to connect the movable contact 13a to the fixed terminal 13b while the vehicle is stopped, the constant voltage circuit 21 Power is supplied from the power supply 10 to generate a constant voltage, and in response to this, the microcomputer 20 becomes operational. At the same time, the interrupt timer of the CPU starts counting time, and the CPU starts executing the main control program in step 40 according to the flowchart of FIG. Next, ignition switch 1
3 is operated to temporarily connect the movable contact 13a to the fixed terminal 13c, the starter 11 receives power from the DC power supply 10 and starts the engine in cooperation with the ignition circuit 12. At this time, the regulator relay 15 is connected to the alternator 1
4, a high voltage H i is generated. In addition,
It is assumed that the reed switch 16b is closed due to the magnetic relationship with the disk 16a when the vehicle is stopped.

When the main control program proceeds to step 41 in this state, the CPU initializes the contents of the microcomputer 20, resets the flag Fs , and sets the flag F1 to the actual level of the speed pulse from the speed sensor 16 ( At this stage, since the reed switch 16b is closed, the speed pulse that should be generated from the reed switch 16b is at a low level.
In other words, it is assumed that it is 0. ), and the main control program advances to step 42, where it is determined whether the flag Fs is in the reset state. In this case, the setting (or resetting) of the flag Fs means the establishment (or failure) of the set condition for setting the engine under automatic start/stop control.
The set conditions are that the regulator relay 15 is generating a high voltage H i , that the door signal from the door switch 19 has disappeared, and that the set switch 17 is generating a set signal. , is established when the above three requirements are satisfied simultaneously.

In this state, the CPU responds to the clock value from the interrupt timer, stops execution of the main control program, and steps the execution of the interrupt control program.
60 (see Figure 3), speed sensor 1
The velocity pulse from 6 (currently a low level signal) is stored in the RAM in the next step 61. When the interrupt control program proceeds to step 62, the CPU determines whether the storage pulse in step 61 is at a high level.
Therefore, the CPU determines "NO" and advances the interrupt control program to step 63, where it is determined whether the flag F1 is set to a low level, that is, 0.

Then, the CPU determines "YES" based on the set level of flag F1 in step 41 of the main control program, and in the next step 68, the CPU sets the RAM.
``1'' is added to the count value C by the counter, and this addition result is set as a new C, and the interrupt control program proceeds to step 69, where it is determined whether or not the count value C is 2 seconds or more. In this case, the RAM counter counts the time during which the level of the speed pulse stored in the RAM does not change in response to the clock signal from the clock circuit, and the RAM counter counts the added value "1" by the interrupt control program. This corresponds to the time required to execute (1 msec). However, since the count value C has not yet reached 2 seconds or more, the CPU determines "NO" in step 69,
At step 71, execution of the interrupt control program ends.

However, in step 42, it is determined as ``YES'' based on the reset state of the flag Fs in step 41, and the main control program proceeds to step 43, where it is determined whether or not the set condition is satisfied. At this stage, at least the set switch 17 is not operated, so the CPU determines "NO" in step 43,
The main control program advances to step 50, where it is determined whether the starter 11 is being driven.
Then, since the CPU has not yet generated a drive signal, the determination is "NO" and the main control program returns to step 42. Note that while the main control program described above is being executed, the CPU stops executing the main control program and executes the interrupt control program as described above every time the measured value of the interrupt timer reaches 1 msec. As mentioned above, the main control program
Returning to step 42, the CPU determines "NO" based on the result of setting the flag Fs in step 44, and proceeds to step 54, where it determines whether a cancellation condition for canceling the engine from automatic start/stop control is met. Main control program passes through step 50
When the process returns to step 42 and reaches step 45, the CPU determines "YES" based on the low voltage L0 from the regulator relay 15, and the main control program is passed to step 45, which determines whether the starter 11 is stopped. Proceed to 46. Then, the CPU determines "YES" because no drive signal has been generated yet.
In the next step 47, it is determined whether the engine starting conditions are satisfied. By the way, if the engine suddenly stops for some reason immediately after the power supply to the starter 11 is cut off as described above, the driving vehicle generates a first clutch signal from the first clutch switch 18a by depressing the accelerator pedal. At this time, the regulator relay 15 generates a low voltage L 0 due to the sudden decrease in engine speed, while the starter 11
The rotation speed of is in a state of gradual decline. When the main control program proceeds to step 47, the CPU determines "YES" as in the case described above, and in the next step 48, determines "NO" based on the set result in step 52. The main control program proceeds to step 49b, where 10 msec is subtracted from the result set in step 52, and this subtraction result is newly set as the drive delay time D. Thereafter, the main control program passes through step 50 and returns to step 42. Therefore, when the subtraction result D becomes zero while repeating the determination as "NO" in step 48 and the subtraction in step 49b, the CPU determines as "YES" in step 48 and proceeds to step 49a. to generate a drive signal. Then, the starter 11 is driven under the control of the transistor 31 and the starter relay 32 in response to a drive signal from the CPU to start the engine.

As can be understood from the above explanation, if the engine suddenly stops immediately after power is cut off to the starter 11 when the engine starts, the driver depresses the clutch pedal to output the first clutch signal from the first clutch switch 18a. Even if the starter 1
1 remains cut off, and the drive delay time D
When = 0.5 sec has elapsed, that is, when the rotational speed of the starter 11 becomes approximately zero, the starter 11 is driven by the re-energization and restarts the engine. In other words, when the difference in rotational speed between the engine and the starter 11 is almost eliminated after the drive delay time D = 0.5 sec has elapsed, the starter 11 is driven by re-energization. The pinion meshes smoothly with the ring gear provided on the flywheel of the engine, and as a result, noise such as gear noise and damage such as wear are prevented from occurring at the connecting portion between the starter 11 and the engine, such as the pinion or ring gear. In this state, the engine rises at that rotational speed as the rotational speed of the starter 11 increases, and its starting is completed smoothly. In this case, since the timing of automatic re-energization of the starter 11 always coincides with the stop timing of the starter 11, smooth restart of the engine after the above-mentioned sudden stop of the engine can be quickly achieved. Thereafter, the starter 11 stops in the same manner as in the case described above, and the vehicle starts when the start operation mechanism is operated.

Furthermore, when the door of the vehicle is opened while the vehicle and engine are temporarily stopped, the door switch 19 generates a door signal. However, the main control program may not be able to step in such a state.
When proceeding to step 54, the CPU determines "YES" based on the generation of the door signal, and steps the main control program.
Proceed to step 57 and reset the flag Fs . After that,
The CPU generates a drive stop signal in step 58,
Then, in step 59, an energization signal is generated. As a result, the transistor 31 becomes non-conductive in response to the drive stop signal, maintains the normally open switch 32b of the starter relay 32 in an open state, and disables automatic drive of the starter 11, and the transistor 33 responds to the energization signal. The normally closed switch 34b of the ignition relay 34 is maintained in the closed state, and the ignition coil 12c is enabled to be energized. Note that in a state where the automatic engine start/stop control is canceled in this way, the engine will not start unless the ignition switch 13 is operated.
