Two-seater motorcycles are equipped with pillion steps for rear seat passengers to rest their feet on, and the pillion steps are usually of the bar type, but in motorcycles with low floors such as scooters, they are fitted with pillion steps for a good appearance. A type of floor type is sometimes used.

The pillion steps mentioned above have a bending mechanism at the base of the step to store them when not needed and to escape when they hit an obstacle, but conventional ones simply bend upwards, so they cannot be easily moved from the front while driving. If it hits an obstacle, it cannot flip up and bend. Therefore, a structure has been proposed in which the bending hinge part of the step is inclined toward the rear of the vehicle so that it can be bent even by force from the front, but although this can be used for bar-type steps, it is not suitable for plate-shaped and floor-type steps. The step floor surface is slanted, which is inconvenient for foot placement. In order to deal with this, if the above-mentioned mechanism is adopted and the step floor surface is set to be horizontal during use, the front part of the step will protrude outward when folded and stored, which is undesirable.

The present invention was developed in view of the above, and its purpose is to project a pillion step with a plate-shaped floor surface so that the floor surface is horizontal, and to allow the pillion step to be folded vertically when stored. In a pillion step device for a pivotally mounted motorcycle, there is provided a pillion step on one of the base of the pillion step and the pillion step support portion of the vehicle body in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body.
Two cylindrical protrusions are provided at a predetermined distance apart to form a recess between the cylindrical protrusions, the other is provided with a cylindrical protrusion that engages with the recess, and the cylindrical protrusion is provided at the base of the pillion step. and a cylindrical protrusion provided on the pillion step support part to connect the base of the pillion step to the pillion step support part of the vehicle body by rotatably inserting a pivot shaft into the cylindrical protrusion provided on the pillion step support part, and to connect the base of the pillion step to the pillion step support part of the vehicle body. Each of the opposing surfaces is formed in a spiral shape, and the pillion step protrudes so that the floor surface is horizontal, while being folded vertically when stored. To provide a pillion step device for a motorcycle, which can be bent and folded upward by the guiding action of a section.

Next, to explain its functions and effects in detail, FIGS. 1, 3, and 7 all show the state in which the step 20 is used, and the step 20 is held horizontally by the action of the locking protrusion 19. . The bracket 14 is fixed, and by lifting the step 20 upward, the step base 16 supporting it rotates upward about the pin 22, and at this time the spiral engagement edge 15

By the way, if you run with the step 20 extended horizontally and hit an obstacle, the step 20 will tend to move backward, but the spiral engagement edge 1
5b, 17b, 15c, and 17c, it rotates and rises while moving rearward, and automatically flips up and stands up, and enters the retracted state. If it hits an obstacle in front of it, it moves backwards and rotates upwards to soften the shock and is automatically set to the retracted state, which can be done while horizontally supporting the steps, and then to the standing position. If the steps become diagonal,
It does not protrude outward. When thrusting up from below, it also rises and rotates to stand up.

As is clear from the above, according to the present invention, the pillion step is of a floor type, so that the footrest surface is maintained horizontally and does not protrude outward when standing up and retracting.
In addition, when it comes to obstacles from the front, it moves backwards and raises and retracts automatically using the cam action of a spiral engagement. It is sufficient to form a spiral portion on the axially facing side of the branch, and the structure is simple, which has many advantages.
