Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent vapor pipes positively from being fallen off from a separator housing section by configurating a device in such a way that both a bracket and a shell may take a form of a separator housing section which opens to one side in a tank main body, and vapor pipes are connected with the side of the separator which faces the above-mentioned opening. CONSTITUTION:A bracket 5 is provided underneath a brattice 3 formed on the upper portion of a shell 2 in a tank main body 1, and its flange 6 is joined together with the rear wall of the shell 2. Thus, both the brattice 3 and the bracket 5 may take a form of a separator housing section 4 which opens to one side in the tank main body 1. Then a separator 8 is housed in the housing section 4, and a clip 9 formed on the outside wall of the separator 8 is fitted into an installation hole 7a of a flange 7 which is provided on the side of the bracket 5 while it rises. And the plural number of ports 11-13 is projected from the side of the separator which faces the opening portion of the housing section 4, and each of vapor pipes 14-16 is inserted into the housing from the direction, toward which the separator 8 is inserted, and is connected with each of those ports 11-13 respectively.

Regarding conventional fuel tanks for automobiles, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 57-3
As disclosed in Publication No. 7016, a separator is disposed inside the tank body, vapor generated inside the tank body is allowed to flow into the separator, and is extracted from the separator to the outside of the tank body for treatment, thereby reducing the tank internal pressure. This prevents the tank from rising, ensuring smooth fuel supply and preventing deformation of the tank body. The separator is fixed to a bracket disposed inside the tank body, but since the separator is assembled later through a working hole formed in the upper wall of the shell after the tank body is molded, it is convenient to attach the separator to the bracket by means of a lip stopper. is often fixed.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention Since the separator is simply fixed to the bracket with a clip, if the clip comes off due to impact from the liquid movement of the fuel in the tank, the separator will fall off from the bracket. It has been pointed out that this may impede vapor discharge.

In FIGS. 1 to 3, reference numeral 1 indicates a tank body, and a bulge 3 is formed at the upper side of the shell 2 of the tank body 1, for example, at the left corner of the upper rear side. A bracket 5 with a flange 6 joined to the rear wall of the shell 2 is disposed below the bulge 3, and the bulge 3 and the bracket 5 open the tank body 1 to the right side. A separator storage section 4 is formed. Reference numeral 8 denotes a separator placed in the separator storage section 4. This separator 8 has a clip 9 integrally molded on a part of its circumferential side, and is inserted through the opening of the separator storage section 4 and placed on the bracket 5. The clip 9 is engaged and fixed in the mounting hole 7a of the flange 7 provided upright on the side edge of the bracket 5 by pressing from the insertion direction. The separator 8 also has a communication hole 10 in its upper wall, and a boat 1 on one side facing the opening of the separator storage section 4.

1.12.13, the vapor pipe 14.15.1 is inserted from the same direction as the insertion direction of the separator 8 into the separator storage section 4.
6 is connected. The vapor pipe 14 extends along the rear wall of the shell 2 to the side opposite to the side where the separator 8 is disposed, and the tip thereof is arranged to penetrate the rear wall of the shell 2 and protrude outside the tank body 1. Δ, - The vapor pipe 16 also extends in the same direction as the vapor pipe 14, and its tip portion opens into the upper space within the tank body 1. The vapor pipe 15 extends toward the front wall of the shell 2, and its tip opens into the upper space at a corner diagonal to the corner where the separator 8 is arranged. That is, in this embodiment, vapor pipes 15, 16. The generated vapor can be caused to flow into the separator 8 through the communication hole 10 and/or through the communication hole 10 and any one of the vapor pipes 15 and 16, and can be extracted to the outside of the tank body 1 through the vapor pipe 14 and led to a canister (not shown) for treatment. It looks like this. Although not shown, the vapor pipes 14, 15, and 16 are all supported at their intermediate portions on the upper wall of the shell 2 by appropriate clamping means.

According to the structure of the above embodiment, even if the clip 9 is not securely engaged, or even if the clip 9 is securely engaged, the clip 9 may be damaged due to the impact of the fuel in the tank during the night shift, and the flange may be damaged. Even if separated from separator 7, separator 8

In the above embodiment, three vapor pipes are used, but the present invention can be similarly applied to a type in which vapor is discharged using one vapor pipe. Further, the molding position of the bulging portion is not limited to that in the above embodiments, and can be arbitrarily set according to specifications. Furthermore, by erecting flanges on three side edges of the bracket, a separator storage section can be formed by the bracket and the upper side of the shell without forming any bulges. Furthermore, the separator may be fixed with bolts and nuts instead of being fixed with clips.

Effects of the Invention As described above, according to the present invention, the separator storage part is formed by the upper part of the shell of the tank body and the bracket disposed below the shell, and is open on one side. Insert the bra into the separator storage area through the opening.
Since the vapor pipe is fixed on the bracket and connected to one side of the separator facing the opening of the separator storage section, even if the separator is detached from the bracket, the separator will not be stored in the separator storage area. It will not move in any direction other than the opening direction of the section. Furthermore, movement of the separator in the opening direction is prevented because the sea urchin vapor pipe is connected in the insertion direction of the separator and the vapor pipe serves as a supporting member, so that the separator is prevented from moving in the opening direction. This has a great practical effect in that it is possible to avoid the problem of vapor discharging caused by falling off from the separator storage section.
