いう危険性を有していた。 Here, Nb 3 Sn (a compound of niobium and tin), which is commonly used as a compound-based superconductor, will be explained. Figure 1 shows a conventional Nb 3 Sn superconducting coil device. Further, FIG. 2 shows a cross-sectional view of the Nb 3 Sn superconducting coil device shown in FIG. 1. In the figure, 1 is a Nb 3 Sn superconducting coil, and 2 is a winding frame. FIG. 3 shows a Nb 3 Sn superconducting coil 1. Shows Nb 3 Sn superconducting wire. In the figure, 3
is a superconducting conductor, and 4 is an electrical insulator. The Nb 3 Sn superconducting wire 5 is heat treated at a high temperature (approximately 600 to 800°C). That is, Nb 3 Sn is generated by heat treatment at high temperature. Furthermore, since Nb 3 Sn is a compound, it is extremely brittle against stress, and its properties deteriorate when it is wound into a coil. Therefore, in general, Nb 3 Sn
The superconducting wire 5 is subjected to heat treatment after being wound into a coil. Therefore, the electrical insulation 4 is generally made of glass fiber that can withstand high temperatures. In order to improve the stability of the Nb 3 Sn superconducting wire 5, the electrical insulation 4 is
As shown in FIG. 3, they are attached in a spiral manner. Therefore, it is better to provide electrical insulation between the winding frame 2 and the Nb 3 Sn superconducting coil 1 in order to prevent a short circuit between the winding frame 2 and the Nb 3 Sn superconducting coil 1. The inventors tried using glass fiber as the electrical insulating material, but found that it was unsuitable as the electrical insulating material because the glass fiber wrinkled during winding. Therefore, no electrical insulator is inserted between the winding frame 2 and the Nb 3 Sn superconducting coil 1. Since the conventional superconducting coil device is configured as described above, the winding frame and the superconducting coil are short-circuited. There was a risk that this could happen.

In addition, soft mica 6 is resistant to high temperatures, and its properties as an electrical insulating material and mechanical strength hardly deteriorate even when heat treated at about 900°C.
