Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は加熱によつて賦形性を有する、繊維強
化熱硬化性樹脂層を含む積層構造体に関するもの
である。
一般に繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂は優れた強度、剛
性を有し相応した用途を有している。しかし反面
に於て、樹脂硬化時にその形状が固定され、樹脂
硬化後の賦形は殆んど不可能である。
一方、熱可塑性樹脂は熱によつて比較的自由に
その形状が変えられる優れた成形加工性を有す
が、反面、繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂と比較し、強
度、剛性等の機械特性は著しく低いものである。
本発明者らは、このような夫々の樹脂の特性を
生かし、優れた強度、剛性を有し且つ熱賦形性を
有する構造材料について研究の結果、特定性質の
熱可塑性接合剤を介して、熱可塑性樹脂層と、よ
り薄い特定繊維含有率の繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂層
とを積層した積層構造体とすることにより上記の
要求に合致した構造材料になることを見出した。
すなわち本発明は、熱可塑性樹脂層よりも低温で
流動性を有する熱可塑性接合剤を介して、熱可塑
性樹脂層と、該熱可塑性樹脂層よりも層厚が薄い
繊維含有率10〜75容量%の繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂
層とを積層してなる熱賦形性積層構造体である。
このような積層構造体は、熱可塑性樹脂の可塑化
温度以上に加熱することによつて、所定の形状に
賦形することができる、高い強度、剛性を有する
構造体である。
本発明に於て熱可塑性接合剤とは、アクリル酸
系重合体、酢酸ビニール系重合体、オレフイン系
重合体、天然ゴム、合成ゴム等である。又繊維強
化熱硬化性樹脂とは、ガラス繊維、炭素繊維、黒
鉛繊維、石綿、その他有機・無機繊維等で強化し
たエポキシ樹脂、フエノール樹脂、不飽和ポリエ
ステル樹脂、ポリイミド樹脂、フラン樹脂等であ
る。熱可塑性樹脂としてはポリエチレン、ポリプ
ロピレン、ポリアミド、ポリアセタール、ポリス
チレン、ポリ塩化ビニール、ポリカーボネート等
である。
本発明による構造体の製造方法は、先づ熱可塑
性樹脂層及び繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂層を個別に成
形し次いで熱可塑性接合剤にて両者を接合する方
法や、予め成形された熱可塑性樹脂層と未硬化の
状態の繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂層とを熱可塑性接合
剤を介し積層し、加熱し熱硬化性樹脂を硬化させ
ると同時に接合させる方法等がある。熱可塑性樹
脂には強化材として繊維を10〜50重量%含有させ
ることもできる。
熱硬化性樹脂層は強化用繊維を含有し、その量
は10〜75容量%、特に好ましくは50〜70容量%で
ある。又強化繊維は一方向配列連続繊維、織物、
編物、組紐、不織布等任意の形態で含ませること
ができる。
この繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂層はなるべく薄い方
が賦形時の変形が容易にでき、該熱硬化性樹脂層
は熱可塑性樹脂層よりも層厚が薄いものである。
積層体の繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂層を厚くする場
合は各層を薄くし、多層にし、各層を前記接合剤
で接合することにより可能となる。
接合剤は塗布又はフイルムで介在させ加熱接着
させる。接合剤の厚さは0.02〜1mm、好ましくは
0.05〜0.2mmである。
このような構造材の賦形は熱可塑性樹脂の軟化
点以上に構造材を加熱し、所定の曲面を有す型の
間にて加圧成形する。
通常熱硬化性樹脂構造材は熱硬化時に所定の形
状に賦形されることが要求されるが、本発明構造
材によると、予め平板状の積層構造体として成形
接合しておき、必要に応じ所定の形状に賦形する
ことができる。
更に熱可塑性樹脂と比較し高い強度と剛性を有
する構造材であり、波板、樋、パイプ継手、フア
ンブレード、スキー板、記録計用ペンホルダー、
靴用シヤンク等の用途に向いている。
本発明に於て重要なことの一つは繊維強化熱硬
化性樹脂層と熱可塑性樹脂層とを該熱可塑性樹脂
層よりも低温で流動性を有する熱可塑性樹脂接合
剤で積層接合することである。この接合剤は加熱
賦形した時の層間のずれを吸収し、積層状態と積
層体に定形性を与えることができる。又加熱賦形
を繰り返すことも可能である。
一方熱硬化性の接合剤を使用すると賦形時の層
間のずれが吸収できず、構造破壊又は剥離を生ず
る。
又接合剤を使用せず熱可塑性樹脂層の接着力を
利用して熱可塑性樹脂層と繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂
層とを直接接合させた場合、賦形時に熱可塑性樹
脂の融点にまで賦形温度を高めなければならず、
このようにすると賦形圧力によつて熱可塑性樹脂
層が流動するため、好ましくない。このような観
点から接合剤としては熱可塑性樹脂層の重合体よ
りも流動性のある低融点物質であることが必要で
ある。
これにより加熱時接合剤のみを流動状態に保
ち、加圧賦形することができる。
本発明の積層体の具体的態様を示すと図面の通
りである。図面に於て第1図は片面が繊維強化熱
硬化性樹脂層で構成された、いわゆるカナツペタ
イプの構造体の断面を示したものである。第2図
は両面に繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂層を有する、いわ
ゆるサンドイツチタイプの構造体の断面を示した
ものである。図中1は繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂層、
2は熱可塑性接合剤、3は熱可塑性樹脂層であ
る。
実施例 1 繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂材として炭素繊維−エポ
キシ樹脂系一方向プリプレグ(東邦ベスロン製Q
−1112タイプ)を135℃で熱硬化させ、厚さ0.3mm
の平板とした。このものの繊維含有率は65容量%
である。
熱可塑性樹脂としてはポリエチレン(融点140
℃)の厚さ1mmの平板を使用し、この両面に、接
合剤として厚さ0.1mmのフイルム状ポリオレフイ
ン(エチレン−プロピレンコポリマー、軟化点78
℃)を介在させ、該炭素繊維強化エポキシ樹脂板
を、120℃10分間加熱加圧し接合させサンドイツ
チタイプに積層した。この積層材の繊維方向の曲
げ強度は64Kg/mm2曲げ剛性は5.6ton/mm2であつ
た。
この積層材を120℃に加熱し、曲率半径30mmの
型を使用し、圧力5Kg/cm2にて賦形し、室温に冷
却後取り出し曲率半径30mmの積層構造体を得た。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 熱可塑性樹脂層よりも低温で流動性を有する
    熱可塑性接合剤を介して、熱可塑性樹脂層と、該
    熱可塑性樹脂層よりも層厚が薄い繊維含有率10〜
    75容量%の繊維強化熱硬化性樹脂層とを積層して
    なる熱賦形性積層構造体。
