The present invention relates to a chord generator for an electronic musical instrument having a keyboard, such as an electronic organ. Generally, when playing an electronic organ, it is necessary to play melodies with the right hand on a manual keyboard, chords with the left hand, and bass sounds with the feet on a pedal keyboard. The chords and bass accompaniment must be selected in accordance with the melody, and must be played in accordance with the rhythm. Therefore, it is difficult for beginners to enjoy playing electronic musical instruments that include chords and bass accompaniment. Therefore, in order to simplify the chord and bass accompaniment, electronic organs equipped with an auto bass chord device have become popular in recent years. With this auto bass chord device, for example, by simply pressing one key corresponding to the root note of a chord with your left hand, the chord and bass note corresponding to that root note will be carved using rhythm pulses from the automatic rhythm playing section. It has come to be generated as a musical sound. Therefore, chords can be played with a single finger. However, in addition to pressing the root key with the left hand, in order to select the type of chord such as mejima, minor, seventh, minor seven, etc., one must operate the selection switch or the pedal keyboard that serves as a substitute for it. This makes operation cumbersome. Also, if the sound pattern of single-finger chord performance is always the same, it will be monotonous, and if you want to be able to change it, you will need to create a separate switch etc. to select it, and press the root note key. You will have to operate it at the same time as the key. This invention was made in order to solve the above-mentioned problem, and it is possible to create a chord by determining the number of times other keys are pressed while the chord designating key is being pressed. It is an object of the present invention to provide a chord generation device for an electronic musical instrument that allows selection of chord generation modes such as type of chord and pronunciation pattern. Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the first embodiment shown in FIG. 1, reference numeral 1 is a keyboard, and the single-stage keyboard is divided into key ranges, with one octave on the bass side being used as a chord keyboard 1a and the treble side as a melody keyboard 1b. However, the present invention is not limited to electronic musical instruments with a single-level keyboard, but can be similarly applied to instruments with two or more keyboard levels, and chords can be created using any one octave of keys as the chord-specifying key. It may be used as the keyboard 1a. When a key on the melody keyboard 1b is pressed, key press information is generated from the melody keyboard circuit 2, which causes the melody sound source circuit 3 to generate a musical tone signal with a desired envelope at a pitch corresponding to the pressed key. Occur. The musical tone signal is formed into a tone by passing through a tone forming circuit 4 including a tone filter, etc., is amplified by an amplifier 5, and is emitted from a speaker 6. Each circuit for playing this melody is similar to that of a conventional electronic musical instrument, so a detailed explanation will be omitted. Multiple pieces that make up the chord keyboard 1a (in this example, 13 pieces from “C” to “C〓” one octave higher)
When any one of the chord designation keys Kc to Kc〓 or a plurality of chord designation keys is pressed simultaneously, the key switch (Sc to Sc〓) corresponding to the pressed chord designation key of the chord keyboard circuit 10 is turned on. This is input to the single note selection circuit 111 of the key press detection circuit 11. This single note selection circuit 111 is, for example, a high note priority circuit, and when a plurality of key switches are turned on at the same time, it outputs only the on information of the key switch on the highest note side as key press information. This is input to the latch circuit 12 which serves as a chord key memory, and the signal Δ
It is latched at the output timing of ANKO and stored as the root note information of the chord. The chord designation key selected by this single note selection circuit is hereinafter referred to as a "root note key." The signal ΔANKO is a rising differential pulse obtained by ORing each output of the single note selection circuit 111 by an OR gate 112 and differentiating the output by a differentiating circuit 113. It becomes a reset signal. Then, if you press another key on the bass side while keeping the root key pressed, the pressed key detection circuit 11
The outputs of all inverters other than the inverter corresponding to the root key of the inverter group 114 are "1", and the outputs of the key switches other than the root key of the chord keyboard circuit 10 are "1", so the AND gate is When the condition of one of the AND gates in group 115 is satisfied, its output becomes "1". As a result, the output of the OR gate 116 which takes the OR of the outputs of the AND gates constituting the AND gate group 115 becomes "1". A differentiated pulse obtained by differentiating the rising edge by a differentiating circuit 117 is outputted from the key press detection circuit 11 as a signal ΔONKO. This signal ΔONKO is input to the preset input terminal of the counter 13 via the AND gate 14, and the count value of the counter 13 is preset to "1" in decimal notation. At the same time, the one-shot circuit 15 is triggered at the falling edge, and for example, the pulse width is
Generates a 300msec one shot pulse. As a result, the AND gate 16 opens and the output of the inverter 17 becomes "0", so the AND gate 14 closes. Therefore, when another key is pressed while the root key is pressed again, the signal ΔONKKO, which is a differential pulse output from the key press detection circuit 11 at that time, passes through the AND gate 16 and clocks the counter 13. It becomes an input, counts up the counter 13, and at the same time triggers the one-shot circuit 15 to output its output pulse.
Extend by 300msec. Therefore, the key press time intervals for other keys are
When the time reaches 300 msec or more, the signal ΔONKO generated when the next key is pressed passes through the AND gate 14 and presets the count value of the counter 13 to "1" again. Reference numeral 18 denotes a chord type discriminating circuit (ROM) as means for determining the manner in which chords are generated, and reads out data of chord types stored in advance, that is, major, minor, seventh, and minor seventh, using the count output of the counter 13 as an address. and outputs it to the chord sound source circuit 19. The correspondence between the count value of the counter 13 and the type of chord determined by the ROM 18 is, for example, as follows. 0...Major 2...Seventh 1...Minor 3...Minor seventh The chord sound source circuit 19, which is a chord signal generating means,
Root note information and ROM latched in the latch circuit 12
A chord signal is generated in accordance with the information for selecting the type of chord determined by step 18. The chord signal output passes through the timbre forming circuit 20 to form a timbre, which is controlled to open and close by the code gate 21 using chord pattern pulses generated by the rhythm pattern generator 23 of the automatic rhythm performance section 22, to match the rhythm. It becomes a vine chord signal. Then, this chord signal is transmitted to the automatic rhythm performance section 2.
The rhythm sound signal from the desired percussion instrument sound outputted from the rhythm sound source circuit 24 of No. 2 is mixed with the melody sound signal outputted via the timbre forming circuit 4, amplified by the amplifier 5, and output to the speaker 6.
The sound is emitted from Next, the chord designation key Kc of the chord keyboard 1a
The operation of this embodiment will be explained by taking as an example the case where, while pressing down the key (the "C" key), another key on the lower pitch side, such as the chord designation key K B (the "B" key), is pressed twice. This will be explained in detail with reference to the time chart shown in FIG. First, when the chord designation key Kc is pressed, even if other keys are pressed at the same time, the single note selection circuit 111 of the key press detection circuit 11 selects the key press signal caused by turning on the key switch Sc and uses it as root note information in the latch circuit. 1
2 and latched by the signal ΔANKO. At the same time, the counter 13 is reset by this signal ΔANKO to make its count value "0". At this time, since no pulse is supplied to the differentiation circuit 117 based on the depression of the chord designation key Kc, the signal ΔONKO is not generated. If you hold down the chord designation key Kc〓, which is the root note key, and press another chord key K B , the differential circuit 1
As shown in Fig. 2, pulse a is input to 17, and differential pulse a' shown in the same figure is generated, and signal ΔONKO
is output as This differential pulse a' is inputted to the preset input terminal of the counter 13 via the AND gate 14, and the count value of the counter 13 is preset to "1" in decimal notation. At the same time, the one-shot circuit 15 is triggered by the falling edge of this differential pulse a', and generates a one-shot pulse with a pulse width of about 300 msec, as shown in FIG. Accordingly, and gate 1
4 and open the AND gate 16. When the key K B (or any other key may be pressed) again in this state, the signal ΔONKO (pulse b' in Fig. 2) is generated again in the same manner as described above, triggering the one-shot circuit 15, and also triggering the AND gate. The signal is supplied to the clock terminal of the counter 13 through 16, and the count value is set to ``2'' in decimal notation. Thereby, the ROM 18 determines the type of chord as a seventh, determines it as a seventh, and supplies a signal for selecting the seventh to the chord sound source circuit 19. The chord sound source circuit 19 uses the signal from the ROM 18 to select the type of chord and the information specifying that the root note of the chord latched in the latch circuit 12 is "C" to produce a C seventh chord. (chord). The C seventh chord signal generated in this way is supplied to the code gate 21 via the tone forming circuit 20 as described above, is carved by the code pattern pulse from the rhythm pattern generator 23, and is emitted from the speaker 6. be heard. Next, another embodiment of the present invention shown in FIG. 3 will be explained, in which the same parts as in FIG. Common parts are omitted from illustration. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the type of chord is selected by the number of times a chord specification key other than the root key is pressed, but in the embodiment shown in FIG. This is something you can choose from. The ROM 18' in this embodiment is a chord pronunciation pattern discrimination circuit, which discriminates a chord pronunciation pattern (chord pattern) as follows based on the count output of the counter 13, and outputs a chord pronunciation pattern selection signal as a result of the discrimination. The signal is supplied to a rhythm pattern generator 23' via a gate circuit 25.

At that time, the output of the inverter 26 is "1", so that the rhythm pattern generator 23' outputs a normal chord pattern gate signal regardless of the number of key presses. When the code pattern control select switch Scc is turned on, each gate of the gate circuit 25 opens, and according to the count value of the counter 13,
A code pattern selection signal output from the ROM 18' is supplied to the rhythm pattern generator 23'. Accordingly, the rhythm pattern generator 23' outputs either the normal code pattern or the gate signal of two different variation code patterns, or stops outputting the gate signal. Further, in this embodiment, an arpeggio tone (dispersed chord) selection circuit 27 is provided, and pulses corresponding to eighth notes are supplied as an arpeggio timing signal from the rhythm pattern generator 23', and an AND gate 28 is also provided. Through
A stop signal that is output when the count value of the counter 13 is "1" is supplied from the ROM 18'. When the arpeggio stop control switch Sa is on, when a stop signal is output, the output of the AND gate 28 becomes "1",
The arpeggio sound selection circuit 27 is the chord sound source circuit 19'
An arpeggio sound signal is generated by the chord signal from the rhythm pattern generator 23' and the arpeggio timing signal from the rhythm pattern generator 23'. This arpeggio sound signal passes through a timbre forming circuit 29 to form a timbre, and is emitted from a speaker (not shown) through the same route as the chord signal output from the code gate 21. In this embodiment, the type of chord is selected by switches Sm and S7 which are opened and closed by the white and black keys of the pedal keyboard or by a touch switch provided separately. That is, the chord sound source circuit 19' generates the following types of chord signals based on the root note information latched by the latch circuit 12, depending on the on/off states of the switches Sm and S7 .

Then, depending on the number of times other keys are pressed while the root key is being pressed, various chord pattern pulses output from the rhythm pattern generator 23' are carved, and sounds are emitted from a speaker (not shown). However, when the number of times the key is pressed is 1 (the count value of the counter 13 is "1" in decimal notation), the chord pattern pulse is not output, the chord gate 21 remains closed, and the tone forming circuit 20 However, if the arpeggio stop control switch Sa is on at this time, an arpeggio tone signal is output from the arpeggio tone selection circuit 27 via the tone forming circuit 29 as described above. Therefore, an arpegillo, or dispersed chord, is pronounced. In this example, the arpeggio is a fixed pronunciation pattern, for example, an eighth note up mode, but a ROM that determines the chord arpeggio pattern according to the count value of the counter 13 is provided. 16 note up pattern, turn pattern, 16th note up pattern, turn pattern, other variations, etc.) may be selected by the number of times keys other than the root key are pressed. As described above in the embodiments, according to the present invention, the chord designation key (root key) that designates the root of the chord on the chord keyboard is determined by the number of times other chord designation keys are pressed while the chord designation key (root key) is being pressed. Since the mode of generation, that is, the type of chord and the pronunciation pattern, can be selected, the operation is simple, and it is possible to easily enjoy playing an electronic musical instrument with a rich variety of chord accompaniments.
