Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the replacement of a piston ring and a cylinder liner by dividing the cylinder liner into the upper and lower parts in the vicinity of an oil pouring hole and joinning these upper and lower cylinder liners by screws, etc. CONSTITUTION:The divided part 4 of a cylinder liner is installed at the lower edge of an oil pouring groove 2 on the lower side from an oil feeding hole 1. Chamferring is performed if necessary onto the inside of the divided part 4, and the superior lubricity of a piston ring is maintained by allowing the chamferred part to hold the lubricating oil Further, the upper and lower parts 7 and 8 of the cylinder liner are fixed by using a fine screw 5. Therefore, the piston ring can be replaced by demounting only the upper part of the cylinder liner, and even if the upper part of the cylinder linear is worn out, it is enough to replace the above-described part only.

In addition, in the case of a structure in which the oil fill holes 1 are drilled in the upper and lower cylinder liner mounting threads 5, the center of each oil fill hole 1 may be misaligned due to tightening of the screws after the upper and lower cylinder liners 7.8 are assembled, resulting in poor passage of oil. In order to prevent this from occurring, a lubrication trap 6 is cut into the threaded portion 5 around the lubrication hole 1.

(3) When a lubrication hole is drilled in the joint thread of the upper and lower cylinder liners, there is a lubrication pool in the threaded part around the lubrication hole, so the center of the lubrication hole may be slightly shifted after the upper and lower cylinder liners are assembled. Even if this occurs, lubrication can be performed normally.
