。[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] In order to improve wear resistance, hardening is usually considered. However, since the cylinder is relatively large, there is a problem in that it cannot be hardened all at once using normal methods, and even if hardening can be done all at once, there is a problem that deformation occurs.

Incidentally, the normally used liner material is flake graphite cast iron containing high phosphorus and high titanium, and the wear resistance of the part that has undergone laser heat treatment is better than that of the part that has not. Furthermore, since the laser heat treatment is carried out in a limited area of the cylinder as a whole and in a very short time, there is no fear of thermal deformation.

Flake graphite cast iron can be used as the liner material, thereby improving hardenability, workability, and castability. Further, as the liner material, austempered spheroidal graphite cast iron can be used, and in this case, thermal cracking can be significantly reduced.

An excellent effect can be achieved in that an excellent cylinder liner can be manufactured.
