Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an optimum squeezing effect with a good tight contact characteristic and to minimize the carry over of a processing liquid by using mirror-faced rollers to form squeeze rollers provided to a processing section for a photosensitive material thereby providing prescribed hardness to the rollers with the simple constitution and setting the roller surfaces to the specular surfaces having accuracy. CONSTITUTION:Bearings 16, 17 of the squeeze roller 15 positioned in the upper part are pressed downward in the upper part thereof by ends 22a, 23a of nip springs 22, 23. The springs 22, 23 are supported by lock pins 24, 25 and the energizing force for downward pressing is exerted to the ends of the spring 22, 23 by positioning pins 26, 27. The lower squeeze roller 15 is rotated as a driving shaft 29 rotates. The squeeze rollers 15 are so constituted that the upper roller is rotated cooperatively by the rotation of the lower roller. The rollers 15 are constituted of the specular-faced rollers. Each of the specular-faced rollers is formed by polishing the inside peripheral surface of a metallic pipe, subjecting the polished inside surface to chrome plating to form a mold having the specular surface, pouring rubber stock of fluid type into such mold and curing the rubber.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) A rubber roller is used for this squeeze roller, and this rubber roller wraps a rubber sheet around a roller core by a so-called lamination method, and after vulcanization, the surface is polished by mechanical means. It is formed as follows.

In other words, if the squeeze roller surface is matte and rough, the liquid removal effect of the squeeze roller will be halved, so the roughness of the roller surface should be minimized and the roller should have a predetermined hardness to obtain the optimum squeezing effect. There is a need. However, when a rubber roller is formed using the TA layer method, the roughness of the roller surface is made finer because it is polished by mechanical means.
To improve accuracy, the hardness of the rubber roller must be relatively high. However, if the hardness of the rubber roller is too high,
The squeeze effect was reduced, and in order to mechanically polish to the desired hardness, it was necessary to polish slowly and slowly, which increased processing time and increased costs, and was not suitable for mass production. .

The squeeze roller 15 is composed of a mirror roller. Mirror rollers are made by polishing the inner surface of a metal pipe and applying chrome plating to create a mirror surface, then injecting a fluid type rubber material into a mold and allowing it to harden. Moreover, other than metal pipes can also be formed by injecting into resin pipes for casting.

This mirror roller has a mirror surface, so the roller surface has good adhesion and there is no leakage of processing liquid. Also, the photosensitive material 5 and other objects to be conveyed pass between the mirror rollers. Because of its good adhesion to the surface, it has a great effect on squeezing out liquid that adheres to the surface of non-conveyed objects.Furthermore,
Because it is molded by casting, the rubber hardness is, for example, 20 to 25.
The squeeze effect can be further increased.
